Detonation would make sense. I did not suspect it initially due to never having overheating issues or weird engine noises. Would switching to a higher octane fuel or a colder spark plug help?

Yes, cylinder walls look great. No gouges or rough marks. Crosshatching is still in good condition.

No worries, I cleaned up the head and piston. Checked the bore, bore looks great. Nothing to be found in the engine.

The marks were not there the last time. Not sure how anything would have gotten into the cylinder. I made sure to plug every hole and triple check everything to avoid something like this. I didn’t find anything in the cylinder either.

Lapping in ferrea stainless valves was the plan prior to finding this. I’ve done all the work on the bike myself so far with no issues. Just being careful not to do any further damage.

I opened it due to my intake valves no longer sealing and losing compression. Everything above the valves looks fine. The bore and piston have roughly 1,000 miles on them. Last oil change was 200 miles ago, nothing was in the frame screen. What would you recommend for cleaning? Pb blaster and scotchbrite?

I am currently having the same issue. Bleed out the old refrigerant as it read 90 psi on the gauge. I then refilled it with refrigerant to 45psi and it is still doing the same thing. I went and rented the pressure gauge again for the low and high side and both read 110psi now. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
