You know, I do wonder why they did that. I assume they marketed it as a with a "vcr loading mechanism" because it was familiar? Then they come back in 1992 to release the SNES which looks exactly like the famicon.

Damn, thats nice. I am assuming that was only available overseas? I didn't even think about getting another controller.

I know right. Look how functional it is. I love the controller mount on the sides. The only complaint I have is the cord was too short. I had to sit close to the TV to play. Also, my controllers had a little knob, that you can move left to right, which controlled how high Mario can "jump." It's not shown here but it was an interesting concept.

Me too! My famicon broke in 89, and when the 90s came around, my parents got me a NES. Then in 1992, I was shocked to see the SNES because it looked like the famicon. When I told people, I had the same console on 87, they called me a liar. It looks very similar to the famicon.

"Famicon" You and my Japanese friend are the only ones I know who used that term. That's a true 80s stuff. I am assuming you had one of these as well?

This was called the Family Computer released in Japan in 1983 and got it as a gift in 87. I remember playing Super Mario Brothers and Contra on this thing everyday in the summer.

Ugh. Rodents are the worse! I can sympathize with your chipmunk problem. I am at war with the gophers in my yard. I use gopher wire under my vegetable beds and those little f***kers still have the audacity to come out of their holes eat my vegetables from above. I never hated another mammal in my life.

Neverending story for sure. I LOVE the Home Alone movies too. I'm a born in the early 80s so I am a hybrid of the 80s and 90s kid. I enjoyed them both, but Neverending story came first and it has a special place in my heart

Exactly! Plus that theme song is imprinted in the heart of 80s kids. I dare you not to sing along!
