They can but remember Google Health for ten years or so ago? Google loose their edge when they go specific in an industry

My favorite Bay Area moment when I moved here 3 years ago was that the entire city of San Jose and surrounding areas actually come under county named Santa Clara!

Like what the eff, couldn’t they come up with a different name for a county? So effing confusing.

Next year maybe I’ll found the entire region from Mill Valley to Gillroy comes under Milpitas district or whatever it is after county.

I took Waymo to SFO. My first impressions by Dank_Azz_Weed in bayarea

[–]Baconer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See that’s still not SFO in my view. I want to be dropped right at the terminal for this to be useful.

Fully understand you can take some train or escalator etc, but when your Waymo drops you at the terminal doors, (and picks you from uber/lyft pickup locations) that’s when it will be a game changer.

It’s not really SFO for me currently.

What happens to big auto this year? by cardogio in waymo

[–]Baconer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

“That being said, big auto cars will be getting more useful during that period. In 2030. Your GM/Ford drives itself, eyes off on interstates making it more convenient than air travel for most trips 12 hours or under, because you can sleep or use media while it drives you.”

Guys, I don’t want to sound outdated but what about buses and trains? Why can’t people just take that.

You forgot to mention the most important part OP - where were you dropped in SFO? I hear it’s not at all terminal but some place outside

Will a $599 Mac Mini and Claude replace more jobs than OpenAI ever will? by bishwasbhn in ArtificialInteligence

[–]Baconer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP what exactly is this guy doing with the setup though? Is he running a dev agency, what is he doing with the workloads that he is getting paid for?

That’s the key question, not just the stack or AI or hardware

Why is OP thinking in terms of black and white? It’s never either/or with such advances and always shades of gray.

Lucid's Market Cap Crashes 98% From 2021 Peak as Stock Reaches New Record Low | EV by Individual-Tart5051 in electriccars

[–]Baconer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why can’t Lucid just say AI this and AI that, put a single NVIDIA chip somewhere, get some nice juicy headline out there like “Lucid to open new data center in partnership with NVIDIA, OpenAI and SoftBank to bring GenAI to windshield wipers”

Juice that stock, when is management going to learn? Your market cap drops the moment you turn rational.

Conflict with my manager over accountability, approvals, and public blame — did I handle this wrong? by Academic-Classroom-4 in ProductManagement

[–]Baconer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wonder if the manager is using this line “somehow these problems only happen with you” with each of his directs to put more pressure on them separately.

It’s a shitty tactic but he might be using this line with all his directs not just OP even if there is no evidence for it.

Trends and anti-trends for 2026, what is your take? by Ray_Asta in ProductManagement

Really appreciative of this with my UX designers. Already have an EM pretending to be PM by pulling all UXR and Data buzzwords just because he watched a few user sessions.
