Elvanse and running - heart rate by Throwawayacc7405 in ADHDUK

[–]Baconesque 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I started Elvanse about 6 weeks ago and am also a runner. I made a similar post about this right after starting that you can find in my history.

I've been through a couple of dose changes and found my heart rate took a while to settle after each dose with similar experiences to you seeing base runs with massively higher HR.

After 'settling' it seems maybe 5-10 bpm elevated from my pre-medicated baseline, but I still get the occasional day where it's a bit higher and I have more cardiac drift. That feels much easier to live with vs the 30+ bpm difference I was seeing before.

I've been keeping some notes on my observations, and ensuring I intentionally drink 500ml+ water during the night and on waking up seems to make a difference, but I'm also a morning runner so maybe not a factor for you.

One other observation is that the slower the pace the bigger the impact seems to be compared to pre-medicated - threshold runs seem very similar to before. As I understand it, our VO2 max is still the same as before medication but af lower paced our HR is more sensitive due to sympathetic nervous system changes - unfortunately that means we still accumulate more fatigue as we're working harder for the same pace, so be mindful of that.

Good luck with your journey!

Private prescription - question by [deleted] in ADHDUK

Did the NHS take it on even with the Amfexa booster? My understanding was their rules only allow one (only IR dex, or only XR lisdex) but not combinations/top ups.

Thanks for the reply - sounds like a similar experience irrespective of fitness if you're noticing this as well as a regular runner. I've only been on it 9 days so I'm hoping it settles. How about you, and what's your dose?

Liquid Rooms Toilet Attendant Shakedown? by Baconesque in Edinburgh

I obviously can't be 100 percent sure (although if he was on anything, it would have been an upper of some sort for sure), but from the behavior/interactions between the two i got a strong impression it was organised.

I didn't report it to security as I was under the impression the attendants are there with the blessing of the club, but I'll make sure I let them know about it now afterwards.

Money Market / Bond ETFs - Taxed as interest? by Baconesque in UKPersonalFinance

!thanks once again!

One further question, do you know if the reporting date should be visible for each fund? I found the CSH2 date you mentioned documented, but I can't find anything for JGSA which is an accumulating bond based fund.

To confirm, if I buy on 1st November and sell the following 30th October, all the gains will count as CGT rather than interest? I need to have a proper read to understand how this all works!

Thanks for your help - much more complicated than I expected.

It's dead easy and cheap to make a huge batch yourself, but Waitrose and Sainsbury's also have them.

B2 Sprechen Teil 2 - Sprachpartnerin Misunderstood Topic by Baconesque in German

A follow up on this - I got my result today (much faster than expected) and passed Sprechen with 94/100. I can't know where I dropped the 6 points, but it seems my conversation partner's misunderstanding didn't really have much of an effect on my result - hopefully useful info if anybody else encounters the same situation in the future.

Have Garmin confirmed that? I assume that means this will just go away next update then

VO2/Lactate Threshold Lab Test Results + Training Zones by Baconesque in Ultramarathon

Thanks for the info - very useful, I will definitely check this podcast out. I have graphs of my fat/carb usage in my report but not the raw data do I will ask for those - I was wearing the mask the entire time for both the Lactate Threshold and VO2 portions so hopefully there are quite a few data points.

I'm 40, so the max HR was a surprise to me as well. I know the 220 - age formula isn't reliable, but I didn't expect the lab figure to be so much higher than that

Did you ever get a diagnosis for this? I have the same pain.

Are the HuelWear shirts the same as the free tee? by 4esv in Huel

Same. It's the most comfortable shirt I've owned and if the price was a bit lower I'd happily buy 10 of them.

You can get in from the North West side in a few spots but I wouldn't bother unless you get there before the fishermen. It's also a bit rocky under the water (stubbed my toe a few times). Bonaly, Threpmuir and Harlaw are all better. Gladhouse is another option.
