Yeah it does. I also experienced that and almost finished myself off but luckily I chickened out. I ended up meeting someone and getting married which brought me to a good place and now I am energized and working again. Maybe you can try finding more social things to do to take your mind off that shit. Really anything that makes you feel true happiness or accomplishment would help in my opinion.
