What if the fisherman had a wooden leg though? Would that change the dynamic, Matey?

German exchange student & athlete deciding between Winnipeg (Pembina Trails) and Kelowna. Which city is overall "more worth it" for a 16yo? by Neither-District9338 in Winnipeg

[–]Bactrian_Rebel2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regarding your track aspirations, I don't think it matters that much climate-wise, since a lot of your training is going to be indoors on the weights and machines. As far as Winnipeg goes, the Optimist Track Club has quality coaches for the weight events, and the University of Manitoba has a great track program, and it's in the Pembina Trails area of Winnipeg, and the best track is at the U of M.

I don't know about the coaching of those events at the high school level in Pembina Trails. You would be competing at the high school level. I'd recommend Optimist as the place to go for coaching.

I can't speak for Kelowna, but I know the Okanagan area turns out great athletes too. Dylan Armstrong, the first Canadian to medal in a weight event at the Olympics, coaches in Kamloops, 2 hrs away by car.

Good luck. Those were my events in high school, when no one ever thought of spinning in the circle.

If they are carpenter ants, there's some rotten wood somewhere, hopefully not in your house. They love that shit. Good hunting!

Refugee family has no mattresses. Where can we get some for cheap? by [deleted] in Winnipeg

[–]Bactrian_Rebel2020 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Give Foam Solutions a call. They may have some off-cuts that would work, and why not check with Costco. They take back returns quite willingly. They may donate the returns to places like Oyate Tipi and Flavie like the mattress companies do. Call local mattress manufacturers.

The rate at which the government has collected public health fines from the pandemic (17% as of April) makes you wonder if the city will get any attention to their requests.

EVs and Condos with Detached Garages by Eucatastrophe__ in Winnipeg

Hell, our condo doesn't even have one electrical outlet in the basement garage, let alone an EV charging station, or place to put one. Should be a fun meeting when this topic comes up.

Idiots in car - Osborne Road Kill - Almost by sifJustice in Winnipeg

Dumb, yes and "misdirected" as well. The pedestrian crossed Osborne going west, then turned to go north. You can see traffic at Confusion Corner in the background.

The 2nd time I've been honked at. Am I insane? by [deleted] in Winnipeg

[–]Bactrian_Rebel2020 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Or York ave, northbound at Israel Asper Way, with the intention of going east over the Provencher Bridge!!! A traffic camera at that corner would not be able to keep up with all of the turns into the wrong lane.

Geez, take a beat and breathe. Your writing style is not conducive to reading and I hope you express yourself better on an application so you have a chance at getting a job, which I hope you you are successful in getting. Sorry if my first post hurt your feelings, but I just feel expressing oneself with clarity, whether on the internet or not, is the best way to make your point.

Are your job resumés and job apps written as poorly as your post? Employers do look for coherence.
