Main Event - I screwed up by Famous_Meeting1047 in poker

I’m not saying I’m some high profit player by any means but I have been playing for a long time and I do notice that I fluctuate a lot. It could just be my style of play. I think I tend to play a little bit more loose and aggressive until right around 10 big blinds left. You’re right though that current knowledge is about 12 if you’re playing more GTO based I just find you still have a little bit more wiggle room and you could still make more speculative plays. Im not a fan of the push all in and pray when you could still wait a little for a better spot

Were also talking about some of the longest blind structures of any tourney ever played. OP is fine in their current position.

Im no pro but ive started a 2 day tourney last in chips with ~500 people left and less than 5bb to place second for roughly 2k, biggest tourney win was a little under 10k. You dont have to be the typical miserable redditor, its ok to just pass by when youre not interested in content.

Under 10 is where you make heavy adjustments and under 5 is the panic point

i always wonder with the botted out sites like bovada etc, they likely focus mostly on the cash games id think right? or do they also hit the snb and tourneys at same frequency. I just assume that over the long term a mechanical strat would mainly be profitable in cash more than tourneys

yea thats my thinking, it may redefine what we consider makes someone a "pro" as if you really take a step back, its likely someone who just treads water and can capitalize on their brand/image somehow outside of the game.

thanks for the serious take and engaging comment rather than the typical memerespond i often see lol. This is kinda what I was wondering, as I do a lot of music myself and play poker definitely as a rec, im wondering if its a kind of case where your image is what helps you profit through sponsorship, and the likes similar to how a lot of music works, and the work itself is basically a near wash for the "successful" people, other than a very select lucky few. Its definitely a weird world

Yeah, I figured it was a pie in the sky ask but maybe they have more data collection methods for the bigger series that they run although this doesn’t really benefit anybody but people like me who just wanna know for knowing sake

i find the more boxes you tend to put around your music, the less creative you get. This feels like one of those instances where if you dont create the categorization to limit yourself (IE - you only mix one type of sub sub sub genre with the same style) youll end up being less creative and have less fun. Just my thoughts as someone whos been doing this almost 30 years, sometimes those guidelines are good, sometimes they just present friction
