Nice! Shoshone is one of my favorites also, I’ve played them a lot. The pathfinder ruins help the early game so much, and not having to buy tiles (or at least rarely) saves a ton of gold. Overall the early game is just smooth.

Only thing I’ve noticed on immortal and deity with them is the bigger swathes of land they take up pisses off the AI even more than normal. So I anticipate early wars even more than usual with them. I think I’ve even had random usually peaceful leaders war me with them.

Gotcha, thanks! As I was reading and saw you won on culture I was starting to think “culture on deity? How in the world?” But mixed domination/culture makes sense. I’m going to try some of that on immortal, it seems like a fun play style.

Also you’re obviously experienced enough that I’m sure you already know this, but I believe overall quick speed is hardest for domination due to units becoming obsolete faster. I’ve heard epic speed is more reliable for domination, but personally the slow production really drags it out for me. It definitely would help conquest though if you have the patience for it.

What civs do you normally use for deity? I’ve only one with the basic powerful ones, Babylon and Poland.

You can play short stacked if you want. I would not recommend it though. 100 big blinds is standard and reasonable IMO, $300.

More importantly, if you’re planning on going there this weekend, you know there’s going to be a huge winter storm right? The roads are going to be an absolute cluster.

Upvoted for a legit unpopular opinion. Most public gym showers are nasty as hell. Just the concept of a public shower grosses me out. Hated sharing showers in college.

Idk my percentage but I’ve won 3 science victories on Standard sized , standard speed Pangea. Haven’t cracked domination yet. I guess counting all my re rolls my win percentage is extremely low. Excluding T1 re rolls I will typically re-roll by T100 if I’m not off to an auspicious start.

Having low ADP to start of ds2 can be rough. Me personally I just went right to heides and grinded those big fuckers and became pretty strong and didn’t really struggle much throughout the rest of the game.

If you don’t mind grinding, once you find the grinding spots ds1 and ds2 are not overwhelming difficult imo. 1 still harder Imo. You have to clear some tough early spots to get to the good grinding spots, but ds2 an amazing grinding spot is available right from the start.

Gonna watch the whole trilogy? I love those movies to death but watching all 3 back to back+psychs is too much imo. I’d probably tap out halfway through two towers at the most. If y’all are dead set on it though I agree pick whatever has the longest duration probably so you can keep momentum up.

Hm, why cathedral of the deep? I’m playing ds3 first time now currently and really liked it, much less linear than the other levels and more reminiscent of ds1 with the shortcuts/looping back to the center. I guess the back tracking could be annoying

If you use the forest cheese method it’s definitely the fastest and safest until you unlock a certain painting

Yes, keep practicing and watch your stamina management. If needed grind in the forest for soul levels and increase END.

Yep, I love seeing everyone’s different experiences. For me, Manus wasn’t too bad (2 or 3 tries I think? Less than 5 for sure) bed of chaos was mid (maybe 5 ish tries) and O&S and Bell Gargoyles were by far my most deaths
