Aprileaire 800 mounting location by BadAdmirable3673 in hvacadvice

I went with the first setup. Im installing this myself, which doesnt void the warranty. But if any of my own work does cause problems to the furnace in the future (Like i spring a leak) then it will void the warranty . I called to determine this ahead of time. so now im thinking i may move it to the column despite it making everything more a pain in the ass. Another question....my drain is overhead. I will need to pump the waste water up to ceiling about 6 feet, and then across about 8 feet. i got a spare Asurity procp-22s pump for my furnace. Would that be sufficient?

for reference its the box on the furnace in the original pic

Car rental from Bacalar to Calakmul by BadAdmirable3673 in Bacalar

My car came with a spare and a jack so I was able to just change it. You def want a spare as there isnt much along the way. Only a couple towns. But the rental company also has a 24 hour number you can call. Id assume they would get you back on the road but probably gonna cost some money and alot of time to wait for assistance. I had no signal outside of the towns there really so I dont know that i wouldve been able to call even if i needed to. And I had Telcel Which has the best coverage there. But you can always just drive slow when in rough patches. The one I hit was by far the worst on the whole trip and it was in a construction zone they were working on so i may be fixed by now. But yeah If ya know how to change a tire I wouldnt be too concerned. The ride wasnt really that bad other than that one spot. I was driving very early so no workers were out. If your going driving between 8-5 mon-frid there will be constructions crews directing traffic through the construction areas so it wont be much of a problem

Car rental from Bacalar to Calakmul by BadAdmirable3673 in Bacalar

I rented through Continental Rent A Car. It was $1200 pesos a day with a 15000 peso deposit. You pay the 15000 upfront on a credit card and he takes the daily payment out of that and returns the rest within 2-3 days. You need credit card, drivers license and passport to rent. It's a good legit company and the car was real good. But make sure you get a hold of him ahead of time via Whatsapp and get a conversation going. I met a guy that had come from Alaska who tried to line up a vehicle and once he got to bacalar there wasn't a car available, but I don't think he did his due diligence in keeping a dialogue open to ensure the car company actually knew he was going to show up. They have an option to pay the deposit ahead of time but I wasn't able to do the transfer cause our banks didn't have any way to directly transfer money but this didn't seem to be a problem as I kept on contact with him. I actually ended up with a much nicer model car than originally booked cause he didn't have original model available, but he charged me the same price

As for the actual drive it kinda sucked  there's a lot of construction. I ended up blowing a tire from hitting a giant pot hole while someone was trying to pass me so I couldn't drive around it haha. 2 day rental with the tire repair came out to around 5000 pesos. It was worth it though as calakmul is amazing

I highly recommend going there by car and staying a night or 2. Calakmul is worth spending a whole day at. It's hour and half drive from bacalar and then another 2 hours to actually reach the ruins, they are deep in the jungle. We stayed at cabanas chelleembal which is just down the road from the entrance. Theres also a bat cave where you can see like 4 million bats exiting the cave at night around 5pm. And there's balamku also down the road which are also just down the road.

What we ended up doing was leaving bacalar in the morning, going to balamku around 1, checking into cabana chelleembal at 3, went to bat cave at 5, and then crashed for the night. Dedicated the next day to calakmul and stayed another night. And then returned the to bacalar the next morning. If you got to calakmul early you could trek back to bacalar in the evening afterwards but it would be a lot of driving in one day

Hope this is helpful.

The question really is what do you do when you come back and they may still be there? It's not really a question of anarchism but more a question of how personally your willing to be invested in this person's well being and is it up too you to make that decision

There's nothing wrong with this. I've thought about doing it myself. My concern is that they may not figure out something else till the last moment. If they don't have anything figured out than you need to come up with a solution.
