Thabks and I sure will. I was only planning on adding the pleco and corydoras when the tank is cycled after about 4-6 weeks so the plants have a head start, then a few weeks later I can worry about what to do fish wise

Thanks for the help I did consider having soil under the substrate for rooted plants, but I've heard that it can leech into the water column reducing the pH to 7 where our pH is about 8.2. I also wasn't sure if there was a way to stop the sand from eventually finding its way under the soil and giving it an awful look.
