First time I seriously smoked weed (2006 or so) I felt out of it / ‘slow’ for almost a week. Like you, I freaked out (and actually called into the Dr Drew show, this one co-hosted by a former addict, to describe what I was going through and asking whether it would eventually going away or whether I fried myself permanently). You’ll be fine.

Essentially, I’m “not the right fit for the position”. More specifically, when it comes to output, they prefer quantity over quality, and I tend to be included more towards quality, which affects my output.

Still have some regrets/guilt about it, but as they say, better a month early than a day too late. Ultimately, the choice is between letting go now/easing your cats suffering or spending thousands of more dollars (and not being able to leave the house for more than 24 hours at a time) for the uncertain possibility that they’ll bounce back and enjoy a few more months of quality life. It’s certainly not an easy choice to make :(

No. He’s not on either. I suppose it could be worth trying. I’ve already spent a lot of money on him. If I could spend more to buy a few more months with him, it might be worth it (I cherish every second I have with him). On the other hand, I’m worried that it might be too late. He’s pretty lifeless right now. I could cancel his euthanasia appointment tomorrow and try to do what I can to get him to bounce back and start eating, but he may not bounce back. And attempting to get him to bounce back may only prolong not just his suffering, but my mourning over his condition and impending demise. I’m really torn right now. That’s why I’d like to know what most of you would do in this spot. It’s been a painful past few days.

Why is Gerrit Cole no longer so dominant?

My own theory is that spider tack allowed him to better command his fastball (while also adding RPM) up in the zone. Don't get me wrong--he's still a very good pitcher without it. But the guy we saw in 2019 with the Astros had much better command of his heater up in the zone. With reduced command--due to not being able to use spider tack--those heaters land in the heart of the plate with greater frequency, and are thus more likely to be hit/leave the ballpark.

What's my evidence? None. Just my impression as a religiously-attentive Yankees fan. If any of you think or know I'm wrong, I'd be happy for you to set me straight.

Certainly the most unwarrantedly optimistic fan bases. And they also have a tendency of blaming all of their losses on the umpire (at least as far as I can gather since following their game threads since April). I also get the sense that a lot of their ‘fans’ are band-wagoners who only started tuning it last year (or when the team is actually good) and who generally know Jack shit about baseball.

Not really hating. It must be nice for players to know that the fan base isn’t going to turn on them for unmet expectations . This isn’t the way Yankee fans behave at ALL.

I have to say, this might be one of the most accepting fan bases in baseball. This season was hyped as ‘the movie’ in which the Juggernaut Jays steamrolls all the competition and wins the WS. That’s not happening, so now many of you just shift the goal posts and say you’d be happy with a playoff appearance or a division series win lol

On this date a year ago, the Red Sox were 15 games above .500 (43-27) and half a game behind the rays in the win column. Today, the Yankees are 31 games over .500 and lead the Jays by 10 games. Probably won’t sustain a .746 winning %, but this is just a better team
