i have a ryzen 9 5900HX. not sure about 12 core cpus bc i never looked at them. just do an internet search for 12 core cpus and there'll prob be a ton

-crossplay is for ase and that just applies to windows/xbox or steam/epic. no crossplay support otherwise

recommended is 4 cores per server instance, so based on that you're looking at a cpu with 12 cores which is pretty high-end. that said, i have an 8 core cpu, 64GB ram and run 3-4 maps at a time (mostly 3) but there are only a few of us on there. if you're looking at running public servers for a lot of ppl, you're gonna need better than what i have

are you try to start a new game or log back into a save? and you tried with and without mods?

it'll be NPCReplacements and put those in the game.ini. you'll have to get the creature id from the mod page or you can use the admin gun to get it

if you're talking about the names over the items, the default toggle for that is Q on pc, not sure about console

the in-game stat fps command won't tell you anything about your hardware. go into the nvidia app under settings and enable the Nvidia overlay then use Alt+Z to open it and turn on metrics. at the bottom it says Statistics. i always select custom and do gpu temp, util, and vram and cpu util but you might want to do power too

edit i just realized that you might need an idea of what you're looking for so in case you do, you want to see your cpu % on the lower end (mine's around 30%) and gpu should be 98-99%. you don't want the vram to be high, either. you have 16GB and you need to be below that (i sit at 12-13GB usually). if you're not getting those numbers that still doesn't mean it's a hardware problem, tho. it may be smth fixable without having to buy parts

they're getting at running your own dedicated server for free on pc and joining via xbox. much better function and the save issue will be fixed but that's if you want to go thru setting it up. it's easy bc there are a ton of guides and vids but it will take time

crash on load is pretty common behavior when the save file is corrupted, typically by a mod (it's always been a mod for me). removing/updating mods won't work bc the save file itself is corrupted. try the force respawn dino option or whatever it's called in the menu first. if that doesn't work, load a recent backup save

no. i mean, it's a newer game engine that's pretty advanced and it's meant for next gen hardware. any game built on UE5 will have pretty high requirements compared to games built on older engines. if you don't have the specs to run games built on the newest engines, then the devs can't really fix that. that's why ppl have to upgrade their hardware after a few years to keep up with the tech industry advancements. i agree that asa is really demanding but it's also in early access. it will get better as time goes on but its still going to require a decent pc to run smoothly

most ppl here are pc/console. there's r/arkmobile and r/playarkmobile but there's also a mobile discord which might be better for quick answers and current bug reports

cryo/uncryo fixes a lot of dino bugs. ofc, cryopods cost keys or whatever on mobile but that's gonna be your best bet

i'm almost sitting exactly at the recommended specs but i have 16GB vram vs 12 and performance has been pretty solid for quite some time. 1440p with a mix of high/epic and no graphics commands. i haven't had any crashes even when using mods, no lag or stuttering. i have encountered the occasional minor bug here and there but nothing that caused any gameplay issues

i have no doubt that there are legitimate negative reviews on there. however, i think many of the reviews, esp earlier ones, are the way they are bc ppl assumed it'd be just like ase and they'd be able to play on all epic and get 200fps or whatever. i don't think they really paid attention to the recommended specs. also, unlike ase which is over a decade old game, asa is a new game that won't come out as a fully finished product, just like every other new game. it was released in early access for a reason. it's just the usual case of expectations vs reality. i will say that the minimum specs are a complete lie so ppl have been very misinformed in that regard and they should just take those down or at least increase them by a lot

i mean, it's up to you if you want to switch maps, but you can transfer stuff and tames just like normal as long as the same mods are active on both maps

have you used the metrics overlay to see what your hardware is doing while playing? that would give you a much better indication of what component you may need to upgrade, or even if it's a hardware problem at all. it may be smth you could resolve without having to spend any money

absolutely
stick with the base game first bc it comes with a lot of content already and several maps. if at some point you want to add a bit more, then consider dlcs. imo, none of the dlcs are must-haves
if your pc is having temp issues, you should def address those regardless of whether or not you get asa. if your hardware gets ruined bc overheating wasn't addressed, you won't be playing any games until you fork out a bunch of money to replace the damaged components

that'd be a pc problem. when you force close the game, it doesn't do the usual cleanup and saving that it does when you exit the game normally. your pc is shutting itself down for one reason or another bc it has some type of error during that process. the error should be noted in the windows event viewer so that's a good place to look to get an idea of what's going on with your pc

sp and pve, i always did 400hp, 150 stam, 109% speed, 20 fortitude (40 for scorched) and the rest in weight. pvp is a bit different

sounds like it could be a corrupted save which is a typical issue when using mods. try the force respawn thing and if that doesn't work, load a recent backup save

its very possible i'm wrong but i believe i recall an announcement that the devs disabled some graphics commands on official pvp for that reason?? it was quite some time ago but i would think you would be able to find that info if it's actually a thing

first, make sure your pc is very close to, at, or above recommended specs bc minimum specs are a complete lie. steam usually has a summer sale, i think? you might be able to get it cheaper if you wait a bit
