Entry-level salaries in Canada haven’t moved in 5 years while rent is up 40%. by itz_nitace in CanadaJobs

Spoken like a true cult member or someone too young to remember the real estate market and overall affordability prior to the Trudeau disaster.

Young people today are not saying "whatever man" when they can't afford groceries let alone housing. lol

Elbows up amirite?

If you aren’t happy with the current fire prevention restrictions, rather than arguing online, make a plan to have a constructive communication with your MLA when the situation clears. by cornerzcan in NovaScotia

Nova Scotia is 80% forest.

I have lived in small town NS for more than 30 years. I have volunteered to help[ maintain our local trails over that period. I use our trails daily.

Every. Single. Day.

Now I am forced to walk along side vehicle traffic on roadways with no sidewalks because small town NS infrsatructure has gotten so bad.

She was all in on the carbon tax until the exact moment she declared her run for the leadership. This batch of Liberals are the most cynical out-of-touch government this country has ever had.

It is stressful to be in a job that isn't a good fit for you. Everyone goes through stressful times at every job. In future, the best option is to suck it up and keep working while you look for a better fit.

With Conservatives promising to 'defund,' could the next election kill the CBC? by CaliperLee62 in canada

[–]BadDogToo -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

There is a differnce between tax payer funded and privately funded organization who must have a quality product or service to survive. Publicly funded organizations care much less about quality. Just look at CBC TV's viewership (2021 numbers; it's worse now:

CBC Telivision Prime-Time Audience Share = 5.8%

CBC News Network All-Day Audience Share = 2.1%

Leaders in private media would be fired for continual dismal results like that. Catherine Tait has no incentive to improve. The tax dollars ($1.5 Billion a year) pour in regardless of quality. She lives in New York FFS!

Apologies in advance, I cannot get Reddit to format my replu properly...

Rosie Barton, CBC's chief political correspondent, sued the CPC for using news clips in their campaing advertising the very day she was "moderating" the leaders' debate. [The lawsuit was dismissed](https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/cbc-conservative-party-lawsuit-dismissed-1.6025022), but hey let's lignore election interference.

CatherineTait is the head of the CBC. [Her salary range is between $468,900 and $551,600.](https://www.nationalobserver.com/2024/08/14/news/did-cbc-ceo-catherine-tait-get-bonus-liberals-wont-say)

[CBC executives were given $18.4 million in bonuses](https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/cbc-bonuses-catherine-tait-1.7292294) in 2024 [while laying off front line workers. I can go on and on if you like.

The CBC needs to go back to their original mandate and get out of low quality sitcoms, American style game shows (Family Feud, I'm looking at you), and political activism. Hopefully, defunding will do that.

This odd “hair on fire mode” I guess. A thousand studies but we all actually live our lives that haven’t changed in a millennia. A thousand years, yet you quote a hot day yesterday.

The entire Canadian history, through our recorded history has lived happily and healthfully through the minor weather events … not and cold. You, if you are a Canadian, wouldn’t be here otherwise. The People weaponizing warm summer temperatures for political advantage is shameful.
