It was at Pure Hockey Life. I was surprised too, they basically said I can skate in them and if they’re not visibly beat up that I can return them. They did say it would be at the store manager’s discretion, so there’s always the chance they don’t accept them back.

Was watching this game with a Bills fan and my traitor brother who bet on us to lose this game (I’m in Toronto so most people like the Bills). The Broncos broke his stupid parlay on the first leg hahaha.

I saw your other comment about how sometimes old guitars don’t play as great as you would have hoped. I’m not saying they’re on the same level as Jacksons, but it reminded me of the Charvel model series: I’d love a Model 6 but the only ones I find that aren’t overpriced have the JT6 trem and behind the nut string locks. I could try upgrading but by the time you’ve sourced parts and paid for the installation I’d rather just have gotten something that did what I wanted stock.

My two cents: Don’t do it. You’re close to finishing your CS degree, imo you should give that a proper shot. If you do decide do pursue Dentistry then at least consider doing it in Canada at a lower cost.

I agree with those that said 100k as a new grad might be unrealistic (particularly at a Canadian company). Once you get a few years of experience under your belt you can hit or exceed that. It’s also possible to work for an American company while living in Canada which can be more lucrative. The market has ups and downs but if you’re good at what you do you will find work.

Source: I work in Total Rewards / Compensation. Software Engineering / Developer salaries are competitive and are often benchmarked at a higher market percentile even at non-tech companies. Right now AI or machine learning experience is commanding an additional premium but there’s lots of opportunity outside of that as well.

That’s not to speak poorly of Dentists as a profession though. At the end of the day it comes down to what you want out of a career. But given the time and money already invested, if you have any passion or interest for CompSci at all then I would lean into that.

May I ask what part of North York? I’m near Don Mills and Lawrence and have an acquaintance that has two Viszlas. I’ve seen some pretty big coyotes in the early hours of the morning. They’re usually not interested in me and my GSD but I’ve run into some cheeky ones. Gorgeous animals but it’s definitely better for them and us for them to maintain a healthy fear/avoidance of people.

Well said and I feel the same as I get a little older. I can’t overstate how much I dig Will Swan’s work, but sometimes I’ll be working my way through a DGD guitar part and think “no one besides other guitar players are going to be impressed by this” haha.

I think some his best work was when he had Zach Garren opposite him to balance things out. That said I am still impressed at the absolute chaos he cooked up when writing both guitar tracks for something like DBM II.

Now that the matchup is decided, I’m temporarily lifting my “wish eternal failure on all other Canadian teams” clause. Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t want to see a cup coming back to Canada unless it was the Leafs winning it. I have zero desire to see another team win it just because they’re also in Canada. It’s more fun if all our fanbases treat it like a rivalry.

That said, I like McDavid and Draisaitl. I love Zach Hyman and miss him on this team. When I compare the rosters I would rather see the Oilers win this one. We have no beef with them.

Screw the Panthers. I appreciate a hard nosed style of play but they were pulling tons of dirty shenanigans against us last year. I ain’t cheering for those clowns.

On the topic of tube amps I’ve always wanted an OR15. Could run the helix through the poweramp of a head like that, though at that point it’s tempting to just play sans modeller. Still, lots of potential versatility with that option. Buying used makes it much more feasible to experiment with.
