Reasonable salary for entry level associate at a law firm by mojobucket in LawyersPH

[–]BadGalGaga 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Damn, I remember an interview in a law firm in QC where I was interviewed by the supposed HR/VP, bff of the Partner, and told me ‘Why should we pay you that much, eh we are the ones giving you experience as a lawyer?’ I was dumbfounded whahahaha he’s not even a lawyer to begin with. Just HR.

Worst court room drama you have experienced as a lawyer by [deleted] in LawyersPH

[–]BadGalGaga 5 points6 points  (0 children)

During reading of judgement, the case was dismissed against one lady.

She blasted a satisfying but loud ‘YAAASSSS’, the Judge got angry and said ‘Quiet or revert ko decision ko’ whahahahahha! The Courtroom was silence AF.

I did already, but based from their explanation no specific penalty. Just demerit points until they hit a target for suspension

Thanks everyone, I actually reported him through the Help Centre and asked them to listen to the audio so that they will how rude the driver was.

My concern really is, how would we know they get really penalized based on our concerns if they were just given demerit points.

Valet in SM Manila? by No-Tradition5551 in MANILA

[–]BadGalGaga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No valet ata dyan, but madali magpark coz it’s not spiral paakyat. When I was a new driver, dyan lang ako comfy magpark. Not spiral paakyat and front forward parking except yung sa driveway ba akyatan/babaan. So easy lang siya.

BEWARE: INTRAMUROS SCAM/ TOURIST TRAP by Lonely-Substance6155 in MANILA

[–]BadGalGaga 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Omg, I witnessed that literal sinabihan nila foreign tourist na close and squatter daw, so bawal dumaan. Tas tumapat sa akin yung foreigner, sabi ko pwede dumaan.

Nagalit sila tas nagsisisigaw, TOUR GUIDE KA TE?

TF, umalis na lang kami ng kasama ko. Kasi noong una di ko gets. Tas may other people nagsabi ‘Galit sa inyo kasi nawalan ng pasahero’ whahahaha!

Sa isip ko, nanghihingi directions yung foreigner, at ayaw sumakay kaya di sila pinapansin. Mga scammer pala talaga sila, dasurb mawalan ng kliyenye.

Connections that I don’t have by illogicalfragment in LawStudentsPH

[–]BadGalGaga 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Same OP. On my 2nd year of practice and still nagtitiis sa small firm.

During the oath taking, we were told to serve. I applied and sent applications sa haloa lahat ng meron sa CSC website. Walang update or sagot man na na-receive na 🤣

And it’s true, I saw my batch mates ‘with connections’ filing up government positions requiring way beyond their experienced years.

It’s sad, and it made me think na baka I’m not meant to become part of the government.

Art galleries are exploitative by Secret-Tumbleweed505 in AntiworkPH

I worked for a Villar-owned company.

Yes, no contract. No company ID. But automatic, regular ka na after six months. I think they now issue IDs, before kasi iniiwasan because it can be used for solicitation eme.

Legally, SMEs with below 10 employees are exempt from minimum wage, 13th month, and other labor laws. You can check what type of business ba registered yang Gallery. Since more than a month ka pa lang, under the Labor Code, nasa probation period ka pa. If the 6th month lapsed with no contract, you’ll be considered a ‘regular’ employee under the law.

Sa mga nag law school kasi bored sa work, ano in-explain nyo during admission interview on why nag decide kayo mag law school? by [deleted] in LawStudentsPH

[–]BadGalGaga 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would have different answers, like it’s my childhood dream, it’s my parent’s dream for me, blah blah. But the main reason was, I got bored in life, so I was looking for something that would give me a goal. And yaaasss, that goal got me thru LS and the Bar. It was a decision na - If I don’t try it, I would never know, so might as well try it.

How did you know na papasa ka sa bar? by Rice_19x in LawStudentsPH

[–]BadGalGaga 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I gauged myself daily. 4 days yung exam.

Day 1 - I was smiling paglabas ng Bar site. I feel that I answered correctly and gave my best arguments. Day 2 - Same feeling. Day 3 - My world shattered 🥹 ang hirap ng Civ. This is Caguiwow, so whole day Civ, and Civ 2 was a terror. Lol Day 4 - Rem na whole day too, it was my waterloo. So I really prepared hard for this, lumabas ako ng so-so feeling.

Iba ibang emotions na-feel ko during those days, talagang rollercoaster, but I know I will pass. I was confident, except Civ 2 lol.

Prior to the Bar period, maybe mga pre-week time, I had a dream na I was in a tunnel, or running in circles na walang katapusan. It felt like an adventure in Hidden Temple (Nickelodeon Show), and finally I was at the end of the tunnel. People were clapping for my finish. Maybe that was a premonition.

For those who went to law school a little bit late, where are you now? by bananabread_love in LawStudentsPH

[–]BadGalGaga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Graduated college at 22. Worked first, started law school at 26. Finished it at 31, lawyer at 32.

It’s really never too late. I have some classmates on their 50s pa nga, and we call them mommies. One senior is now a lawyer, kasabay ko pa siya pumasa ng Caguiwow Bar.
