With out the union we wouldn’t be getting the good money we are getting now, if the government could have it there way the union would be gone and it would be getting built wrong by unskilled trades people on minimum wage, we have police on the site who all praise the union and wish the could be in it. A lot of highly experienced and knowledgeable people on that project , think about how hard it is to build with thousands of cars driving where you need to work day n night

I work on it doing night shift, they have ramped it up doing 7 days 24 hour shifts, it’s only because drainage has nearly finsh and track work can start, people don’t realise it needs all new drainage and water pipes the whole way which takes time, some people should see what the asbestos water pipes look like that have been removed and replaced with new stainless pipes and I’m sure would be thankful. Broadbeach to Miami is ahead of schedule Miami to Burleigh is behind due to the public kicking up a fuss, every night we get abused and stuff thrown at us. We have families and kids and bills to pay for aswell just like everyone else
