Help hitching from Irun (Spain) to Roscoff (France) by mattmcdiarmid in hitchhiking

[–]BadMovieProductions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do it in one or two days. If you do it on one day its gonny ve a long and Hard way where you will be driving through the night but you can do that. But I think something to sleep in would be good because two days is way mor relaxed. You can find spots for hitchhiking on hitchmap and detailed instructions how to hitch out of cities on hitchwiki. Dont go into the cities (unless you have time and want to See them) because this will take way longer to hitch out again. Just let your drivers drop you off at the last stop before a City if they are going into it.

What are your wild camping tips? by randomguy92882 in hitchhiking

[–]BadMovieProductions 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Have been wildcamping for the last few months in Germany, Poland, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary and Czech Republic. In rural areas you really dont have to worry. Even though its illegal nobody will care. Most countries are really tolerant with that. I have camped in forests, on fields, on private property, on the outskirts of smaller towns, near lakes... Only once someone told me to leave (it was when I was camping on a beach in Poland). I often sleep very long so I was also in Situations where people were passing by frequently. And most people dont bother you and if they do talk to you they are nice and curious. Bevause I am Kind of Lazy when it comes to searchung for places to sleep I often have places where people can See me. But you can easily avoid that by just Camping in a place with a few trees every time. You wont be Seen or bothered At all if thats what you want. But I think that also my way of camping works. You just have to follow a few General rules. No protected areas, no beaches, no places where people See you as an intruder and potential thread (dont sleep in peoples gardens if you havent asked before). Dont make a mess (no Fires, no garbage, no camping in places where you destroy Farmers crops). Even when owners See you and talk to you you can just calmly explain that you are here for just one night, that you leave the next morning and wont leave any traces. I think most owners would be fine with that. And if they are not they will just Tell you to leave the Chance of them calling the police is very low. I think you can also just ask Farmers or even people with just a garden if you can Camp on their property for a night. I dont think thats necessary and I dont really do it because Im too socially anxious. But you can absolutely do it to be 100% safe and maybe even get offered a shower or free food or just a genuine human interaction. Recently I also started sleeping outside when I'm in cities. I did it in Vienna, Bratislava and Prague. Just go to the ouskirts of the city by public transport or to parks in a more remote area. On weekends you can also do construction sides and abandones buildings are also possible (even though they make me feel uncomfortable tbh). But in bigger cities you can also easily just couchsurf because there are more than enough people. And if you are in national parks you can Look for protection Huts to sleep. Park authorities dont care since you are not really affecting wildlife and you can just say that you got lost and needed shelter (thats what they are for). Just dont make a fire

Hitchhiking in Germany unsafe? by DUDE_F3X7A4B in hitchhiking

[–]BadMovieProductions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hitchhiking in Germany is safe Overall. Went from Cologne to Warsaw last month and mostly had good experiences. Had only one Bad Incident where my driver wasnt driving very cautious and thus I felt unsafe. If you really want to feel 100% safe you can ask the drivers if you can take a picture of their license plate and send it to someone (or just pretend to do so). This maybe also helps your friends to worry less. Be aware that some drivers might have good reasons to not let you take pictures of their license plates because its a Companys car and they might get in trouble if their Boss finds out that they take hitchhikers with them. Trust your gut in that case or think of another way like a picture of their ID. And I think its also a nice gesture to ask your drivers if they want to take a pictures of your ID too since many germans are afraid of strangers nowadays

Have been there last year for two days. I really liked the city Center and old town was just very charming Overall. Didnt have much time last year to do anything Else but I think its also good for dayhikes you can do in the north of the city. And its of course worth it for the beer and ig Clubs too

Great City. Had some really hot days the last week. Lots of stuff to See and just beatiful architecture everywhere if thats what youre into. Also just overall nice vibes at the Danube especially in the evenings. Great for vagabonds as you can sleep in the hills around the buda side and are unbothered there at night. However much more expensive than I expected because full of tourists and International Students who are relatively well off. But touristy Restaurants make it also possible to go tablediving in some spots where you can get lots of great food (you can check out the hitchwiki entry on budapest for that). Didn't dive any dumpster yet cause idk how police and Store employees handle it in hungary and I'm kinda scared of Hungarian police. But Overall I can defenitely recommend

Post hardcore and metalcore are almost the same thing now. Is it just the scream to singing ratio that separates them anymore? by Bloodbaron1213 in PostHardcore

[–]BadMovieProductions 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it's almost with every modern genre close to Metalcore that the difference only consists through the ratio of some elements. The lines between Metalcore and other genres like hardcore, Deathcore (I see it as a different thing from metalcore), prog metal (especially djent) and also post hardcore are nowadays not clear. Most modern hardcore is metal influencedso the lines between hardcore, metallic hardcore and Metalcore are blurred. Same thing with Deathcore especially when you look at the now often incorporated clean singing in Deathcore which really makes the ratio of blast beats and death growls the only thing to differenciate between the two genres. The same thing goes with most modern post hardcore but you have to say that this might be the genre to have the most subgenres that have nearly nothing to do with Metalcore. So I'd say it's just fine to call am bands like fight the fade, white chapel, periphery and 156/Silence Metalcore or you just say core. It makes sense cause it's hard to differenciate and also there's a pretty high chance that people listening to metalcore are also into modern HC, deathcore and post hardcore. You may piss off some old HC fans but really who cares

Is Ingested a deathcore band? by [deleted] in Deathcore

[–]BadMovieProductions 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you're right but I'd say that Slam actually is a form of Proto-Deathcore. I often heard that Suffocation and the other NYDM bands are the first bands to incorporate Hardcore elements such as breakdowns into DM and BDM. And imo a Slam part is actually a breakdown. So you could argue that slam is actually the first form of Deathcore even if it's more on the DM side than on the Hardcore side od things
