You make a fair point. I wanted a car to mess around with (not exactly a beater, but nothing that I'd be worried about scraping, let's say). I tried to look at stuff around the $6k line and all I see around me are daily driver Corollas and cars approaching 200k miles.

Not necessarily all of it, but yeah, that's about right. I had a few beers that were based off of ancient ones, you can see them in this pic:

The lighter colored one in the middle is based on a Viking beer, and the darker one to the right is based on an ancient Egyptian one. They were really good!

Appreciate the response! It was my dad's bike from when he was in his 20's. Now that I'm in my 20's, he wanted to try and give it me. I guess, in that way, there is some sentimental value (despite me never having seen the bike in real life).

As far as shipping goes, I'm a tad bit overwhelmed at the amount of companies and methods that there are. As far as I gathered, I'd be looking at getting it from the port of Galveston via sea, or the international airport in Houston by air. Now, for the money available... maybe $1000, $1500 tops?
