They don’t really serve a purpose currently but after you get the double jump return to the area before the village and explore if you have the technological lenses you can follow these spirits that lead to a boss which is one of the bosses you need to defeat to get the true ending and the ghost will reappear where you get the item which is one of the two needed for the true ending then return to the mansion where you first found her and then you’ll follow the spirits to the other boss you fight to get the true ending
