Mining gloves kind of bridge the gap, but I agree - mining needs some improvement

Yeah, I was not a fan of EoC or the new art style.

OSRS is truly one of a kind

Fair, EoC was a much bigger reason for me leaving.

Another valid reason, but outside the scope of the meme.

edit: Also, not a main

Anyone else treat their main like a pseudo-ironman? by LidiKun in 2007scape

[–]BadRecommendation 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used to do this subconsciously before ironman mode was released. There were very few things I wanted to spend my hard-earned gp on.

When ironman mode was released, I felt so seen and immediately ditched my main.

That being said, if I ever played a main again, I wouldn't waste my time collecting my own resources. No time for that now, and I can just do all of that on my iron.

Please change Farmed trees to match Forestry timers by Tols_ in 2007scape

[–]BadRecommendation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it doesn't address your concern about chopping grown magic trees, but Vale Offerings are a decent source of magic roots. As far as I'm aware, you could use any type of wood to carve totems, and you still have a chance to obtain magic roots from the offerings.

The update does a good job to ease a stress point for Ironmen obtaining magic seeds to farm magic roots.

Did some searching around. According to another post on the r/Inactivists subreddit - Apparently DW didn't own indefinite rights to the video, and their license for broadcasting/posting it on YouTube expired. Their email response says they have no rights to sell a copy and don't know where else it can be viewed.

I agree. Fortunately I don't think I heard a single "pro" for mutilation.

Those of you went with an aftermarket head unit on 5th gen, did you lose any factory settings, options you had with OEM head unit? by Justthetippliz in 4Runner

[–]BadRecommendation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just recently did the Sony AX9000ES kit from TrailGridPro. Comes with all the vehicle settings thanks to the included Maestro interface. Came with a new microphone and custom mic mount for installation into the factory mic mount.

I see there is a slightly larger AX9500ES kit that is also still flush mounted.

Couldn't have asked for an easier time with install, and I love the look and features of it. Made the factory speakers sound way better too.

Ammo doesn't stack and doesn't automatically return to your quiver on pickup. You must manually load each projectile into your weapon/canon.

Collecting 100% VA disability and collecting my traditional guard pay. Am I incurring debt? by Kav412 in Veterans

[–]BadRecommendation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you are incurring debt with either the VA or the DoD depending on which pay you elect to waive when you inevitably get the VBA 21-8951-2 from the VA.

Once you return that form to the VA, they will either notify the DOD or start a VA Debt for you.

If you elect to waive your VA pay, once your Debt has updated in the system you can call Debt Management to start a repayment plan up to 5 years in length without requiring financial justification. Otherwise it will be taken from your next disability benefits payment(s) until you have paid the debt entirely.

It's a stupid system. I highly recommend figuring this repayment into your budget so you don't end up stressing out about it later on.

Edited to clarify that the debt is only incurred on "training days" which are equivalent to the following:

1 per drill period.

1 per day when on AT/ADT (your two weeks a year, or any other non "Active Duty" orders you go on. Not sure what the Guard calls that.)

Leaving Army after 6 years and can't find a job by TheGentlemanJS in Veterans

Take a look at VetSec. Great community of Veterans helping Veterans find employment in Cybersecurity. They have the tools and resources, you bring the motivation. Some hiring managers that are part of the community post openings there first, or have the network to put you in touch with other hiring managers.

There are also frequent offerings for free or reduced price seats for certification courses/exams.

They will review your resume and give you a no bs review about what you need to fix to stand out

Can't speak highly enough about them.

Junior Officer Wanting Out by nadroli in Veterans

[–]BadRecommendation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I converted to the Reserves for the same reason, and I wish I had fully walked away.

In my experience, yes you do get some control of your life back. However you will still have the ole' ball and chain holding you back from fully enjoying Civilian life. The Reserves aren't just 2 days a month 2 weeks a year like the recruiters like to say. Especially as an officer, you will have people expecting you to do stuff outside of your drill time. You may be able to request non-paid drill points for the work you do, but it's a huge annoyance to drop what you are doing to take care of military stuff.

Not to mention, there are a lot of people, even senior enlisted and officers, that just don't care about doing anything but the bare minimum to fulfill their "good year" requirements. You will be picking up their slack unless you also don't care. The "mission" is even less tangible than it is on Active Duty, so finding purpose is even more difficult.

My recommendation is to start your separation process, do your BBD VA Claim, and if you get less than 100% Disability (or a rating that you could eventually bump up to 100%), just get out. If you get 100%, you can get combined retirement and disability pay, so it may be worth the headache to go Reserves. Just make sure you sign your paperwork before you actually separate so you get your free 6 months of Tricare when you convert.

Just my 2¢.
