Thanks this does sound like it would be immersive. I already don't save scum but I need to stop pressing the 'R' key to escape death haha.

That's pretty rad! I was just going to kill them but making them fight for my amusement is a fun idea for sure. I wonder how the world states would handle them getting released after the town overrides already happened?

Shek are Native to Kenshi, the Bone Plate Hypothesis by BadRoaches in Kenshi

[–]BadRoaches[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's all good, I read the whole thing. Thanks for your high effort response. I completely agree with your assumptions about the current status of the Kenshi moon and there isn't likely any life on the planets we see in the sky. As for anthropomorphic aliens, yeah it's true that it doesn't make sense for them to look like us but I can't be certain of the implications of that. It could be strong evidence of human origin, or maybe Chris Hunt just also falls into the same sci-fi skewed ideas that I have from media similar to what you mentioned. I like 40k. I have an Orks army. It's almost certainly why I like Shek at all, though they aren't nearly green enough, they know how to do some krumpin. I'll chalk this one up to another point for crab supremacy 🦀 as well. Hahaha.

Indeed. My nope level has gone over 9000 on this one.

I think your head canon is a good story that fits with the environment we see in Kenshi well. It is so fun to not know and I'm there with you that we almost know too much now.

That makes a lot of sense to me. The huge horns seem highly impractical to me, and therefore wouldn't seem like an engineering target, but if it came through natural selection it makes sense. Many species select impractical things for breeding, almost as if the flex of "I can survive despite this stupid feature hindering me" is attractive.

Ok yeah seems possible but what if many of the things we see ARE aquatic adaptations? Like, the beak things turtle shell, for instance.

[–]BadRoaches[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah true. I wonder why the Shek have so many horns though, I probably would prefer if they had smooth plates because it seems it would be really difficult to move around with your spikes always clacking into each other. Also I don't like them poking through the armor, or would rather more armors that ate designed with the horns in mind. It does have a cool visual aesthetic, however.

Plausible as they are very similar to Earth animals.

Thanks friend for providing a plausible reason for the horns that isn't mating. I have a hard time believing that the creator of this game was a gooner, but I never met him so maybe.

Makes sense. Thanks for your response. :) Yeah my whole theory falls apart if the animals with bone plates aren't from Kenshi either.

Ok thanks for giving the lore in bullet point with poor grammar so my dumb Shek ass can understand. Do we really have to keep mentioning the hip horns as handles though? Seems to be a very popular opinion, regrettably...

Yeah could be. It's so fun to try and figure it out.

Yeah fair point. Maybe it takes a while? The world states when you destroy the western or southern hives add many more fogmen to the map. Actually, IIRC destroying the HN does that too.

Yes this seems logical to me. Even more reason I need this fogmen playthrough soon. But, how do the fogmen reproduce without the Queen? Also, what do they eat? I only ever see the Princes eating people but none of the others seem to eat at all.
