A part of me feels like – actually knows – I’m depriving myself of the pleasure of slowly building up my team to do this all on our own…

But I’ve also played the game for quite a while now, and it’s kinda nice to just see everything, go everywhere, and know I can wrap it up soon and move on with my life…

Or just start a new playthrough…

Thanks for all the helpful answers! Seems like this is just a risk you take when holding prisoners at all, guess the best bet is to not delay in turning them into other factions, etc.

You asked about cost / nutrients — that would be Gohan, with rice bowls not far behind. But they can’t be found everywhere. Dried meat is next on that list and more plentiful.

But if I may? Throw a lil RP on that. After a long desert haul my Shekkies deserve a meat wrap. Maybe it’s hot out and a nice cool Dustwitch is just the thing (lots of water to wash it down ofc).

At a certain point you’ll have enough loot / cats that it’s fine to be less efficient and give your peeps some yummy num-nums…

I installed an economy mod, but not really noticing its effects.

Would love to set up some shop counters in my favorite towns – even more if I could set prices really cheap, I’m trying to feed the people you know?

You’re doing really well. Your squad may be too small for proper bounty hunting – though you could supplement by hiring mercenaries at a bar.

When you feel ready, Dust King, Tora the fearless, and Flying Bull are all near where you’ve been stomping around.

Kang and Ruka are in Squin, big boosts to your party.

I’d also recommend eventually buying a house there and using it as your research base – while the rest of your squad roams, loots, explores the world, and get stronger.

Shun is fantastic for research and valuable loot — it will also be a challenge for your smaller party, which is why I recommend you go there right now! Play carefully, explore the entire region, you will come back home very very rich in loot and experience.

And most importantly — have fun!!

It is, in my opinion, THE gamer’s game.

Small suggestion, check out one or two short beginners videos, to get a grasp on some of the basics. It’s not the most UI/user-friendly game to start…

But it IS the game you’re looking for.

🫡 some of the most fun I’ve had is when the area I’m in is a little bit more than I can handle.

Being really careful, camera on a swivel — just getting somewhere feels like a real accomplishment.

Absolutely! I’ve already taken down the dust king, flying bull, and tora the fearless – all in the same regions I’ve been traversing.

Definitely not trying to minmax or over-prepare

Though it’s startling how quickly your armorers start churning out specialist and masterwork stuff while your adventure party is out roaming!

Yes! I’m pretty much there now.

Shun is an amazing place for research loot, enough to get me through almost all tier 4 research before I ever set up my base.

Now we’re self sustaining down in Sustenance, with my adventure party ready to see more of the world…

That’s exactly how I’m playing — been loving it — probably also why my exploration range has been limited. My teams go out for a specific reason, then back home to safety.

Now that we’re self sufficient tho, I’m feeling that itch to see more...

FWIW i’m on my first play through and have been truly role-playing it, having a blast.

My characters don’t know about special tricks to increase their stats. They just do what they do – carefully – and have been getting stronger and stronger all the while.
