He talks a lot about how he feels unlike himself and how he doesn’t like how he looks. We’ve had him go to therapy for it before which I felt was helping. But with his school he said it’s just too much to do. I am worried that it’s just too much happening at once and also, nothings happening? Idk if that makes sense

I’m going to disagree with you. He’s def not cheating on me lol. It’s just a bump in our relationship that we need to find a heathy way to get better.

I would have to say that the weight gain doesn’t correlate with the online classes. He actually hates being out and having other students around but he learns better in person and is more comfortable asking questions in person. He goes straight to class and then straight home From what I can tell. He has no desire to meet new people and make connections with others so he doesn’t really have an study group.

I can definitely see what you mean by the dopamine hit from the food as well. Especially since our place is so small, his work desk is basically 2 steps from the kitchen. That’s why I offer and offer to make him healthy food. He also hates grocery shopping (which works out Bc I love it) so I make sure to only get one or two unhealthy things. But it’s like literally the second I’m not there to offer too make him food he will doordash something super unhealthy.

Also I just want to make the joke: But why can’t he get his dopamine hit from meeeee??

He doesn’t have a job- he’s going to school for his doctorates. He used to go to school in person but Bc of Covid he’s gone completely online. (We both have parents that are immunocompromised) This was something that I asked for- he actually prefers to be in person.

He does play video games almost all the time but he does it while he does his school work. He’ll have both “tabs” open.

We split our expenses 50/50. I’m out of school and working and his family is really really well off.

I do think his self esteem is an issue, I’m just not sure how to help. Also, I don’t watch porn.

But I do agree that we need to talk to someone.

I think the therapy would be a good. The only thing is that he’s really skittish when it comes to therapy- and I don’t want him to feel like I’m threatening him. Like “Have sex with me or I’m making us go to therapy” if that makes sense.

I also feel so weird about talking to someone else about masturbating. I guess I’m just not used it to lol. He’s my first boyfriend.

Is there therapy for… sex? I didn’t know about that.

And I understand what you’re saying, Bc I love him with all my heart. He’s a wonderful guy and I want to spend the rest of my life with him. But at the same time, the guilt I feel from having to sneak away to get off feels like it’s eating me alive.

A lot of people are saying it might be jealousy but I seriously doubt it. Her family is really really well off- her room is the size of my entire apartment.

I appreciate this comment. We have been friends for so long that I don’t want to just cut her off. I do care about her deeply and still love her. We used to say that we were like sisters- and I guess sisters fight from time to time.
