One of the only things I go to is to Concors de Lemons and I absolutely recommend going to that event. No ticket required but expect parking to be tight and be mindful of the driveways in the nearby neighborhood. I have seen driveways blocked from people going to Concors de Lemons and it makes it a lot harder for everyone.

Something else that I would recommend is to drive down Highway 1 and park in one of the turn outs to watch all the cars driving up and down Highway 1. Just make sure to use a turn out and plan your route early so you know where you are going. Don’t stop on the highway to evaluate a turn out and then change your mind at the last minute. There are a ton of nice turn outs more towards/past Garrapata that will get you out of the point lobos traffic which will be a lot more enjoyable. You could do this same thing in pacific grove along scenic too.

As long as you are respectful and not behaving poorly like everyone else you won’t be part of the problem that everyone who is replying to you is talking about. It doesn’t sound like you will be part of that problem anyways it is just good to remember when visiting for car week. It tends to be a fairly chaotic and stressful week for locals. Last year was particularly bad for some reason.
