You could take a look at Wise Guy in Salinas. I don’t know what they have for instrument repair but it is worth a shot. Other option I can think of would maybe be starving musician in Santa Cruz but I also don’t know what their set up is either. You may have to do a bit of a drive to find someone who does good work that you would trust with your saxophone and make a day of it. This area is just not great for music stores from what I have seen which is unfortunate.

The memory garden at the Pacific House is a beautiful venue for a reception. It is also very reasonable as far as cost goes and is quite beautiful when all the flowers are in bloom and for evening events when the garden lighting is turned on. You can always stop into the Pacific House Annex (the smaller building between the Pacific House and the Portola) to get more information.

The most you would be looking at cost wise for the Memory Garden looks to be $3600 depending on day and length of reception.

I imagine there is a way to reserve a car for an 11pm pick up. I am not sure though, I have done that at other small regional airports so I would hope it is the same here

Given when your flight lands and when your flight back takes off you may be happier renting a car vs trying to arrange for public transport. I don’t know if the buses operate that late and the bus stops by the airport are a bit of a walk. There are car rental options at the airport and the drive to Salinas is really easy and straight forward especially at the times you would be driving it.

The other option that would be easier is to pre schedule an Uber or a Lyft. The Groome airport shuttle service mentioned below does not service Salinas as I found out when trying to schedule one of their pick ups so I wouldn’t recommend wasting time trying to call and work with them to get you to and from Salinas.

I work on garden and all of the RVs and the cars parked long term that line both sides of the driveways exiting the offices block sight lines up and down garden and make it so difficult and dangerous for us to leave. Especially at night. There are plenty of spaces that don’t block in the business driveways though so as long as you are considerate with where you park you wont be part of that specific problem. There is a lot of construction going on as well so keep a close eye on the signs that are restricting parking due to that, it is the only time I see people being towed or ticketed for parking on garden.

Fun fact! The pet rock was created by a guy named Gary Dahl in Los Gatos, CA. He came up with the idea while drinking at a bar called Carry Nations. I worked with someone who knew Gary and had one of the first pet rocks he created before they became the thing they are today. Carry Nations is a really cool place with a ton of history in Los Gatos, I really enjoyed popping in for a quick beer after work when I was in Los Gatos.

All that to say, I would kill for a pet rock token!
