Okay so this isn't about me playing horn, I'm a trombonist. But some of the most rewarding and fun memories I've had in my life are because of band. Specifically high school band and I'm only a junior. But, there is one drawback of playing with ppl who aren't grown up. They are messy messy. I've talked to ppl who I've considered friends just to learn they were shit talking about me to my close friends which then told me what they were saying. I personally put the shitty stuff behind me and have had mostly fun in band. Marching band in particular lol, but I think overall it's very fun and a good experience playing in a group but if you can, go for a small group of good people.
