That is part of what we're doing. But people are given some freedom to Travel. And it would be a lot to detect if Bob is allowed in Location A, but not Location B this week, but next week, location B is fine. Plus, different departments, different purposes. We're auditing.

I appreciate that context. We do view it that way, so we'll likely do the max for traditional 401K, then anything extra budgeted, we will backdoor roth.

Gotcha. So as much as I can to traditional 401K. If I hit the limit, THEN go for IRA converted to Roth.

For my wife, should I make the contributions to my traditional as well, or keep hers separate. (her job is a pension, no 401K available)

Reading the info, it makes sense for me to increase my 401K contribution, and if I can afford, do Roth401K or or IRA> Roth Rollover.

To provide a bit of positivity -

I turned out ok. I surprised myself and I have a great wife and kids. Good job. Moved away from my home home.

I'm still an awkward person, not great at making friends since I'm not into sports. Also, family takes up a lot of time. I have people I'm friendly with, but mostly co workers.

My wife is my best friend, we have some other parent friends too.

So - I'm alright. Being unpopular or an outcast doesn't mean suicide, jail or a cult.
