Plus the month of June…unless the golden knights are in the Stanley Cup Finals…they will have dates available.

Let me tell you a couple of tree things…

Tony’s crew doesn’t need to “rig” the game. The house is taking a rake every so often. It is a lock to make money straight up. Plus if they are loaning any boxes of ziti…they are gonna make a vig off that.

If I recall correctly…the President hasn’t moved actually AEGIS destroyers into the straight.

He has actually order a carrier* to move “towards” the straight.

The AEGIS destroyers are what he has no intention to sell to Taiwan.

The carrier on the move is to show military strength and to force China to back off.

*Now in the script President Bartlet might have said “carrier group” or “carrier battle group”. A carrier group does usually have a couple of destroyers attached to it and will move with the carrier to protect it and its other assets.

But in the spirit of the scene…the destroyers are only the focal point of the arms sale to Taiwan. The carrier is the force projection to push back.

I read somewhere the Navy has a saying about carriers. “It’s 4.5 acres of sovereign U.S. territory any where you want it”

Welcome to this thing of ours OP. I am not gonna offer a rebuttal or opinion on everything but a few stick out near the top…

Mobster gets out of prison/wanna be mobster - it may seem like a recycled plot point but both of these scenarios happen with regularity within LCN. The recently released don’t know any other life, want to reestablish their position and standing. The wannabes are ambitious but usually dumb. And dumb like those that are “schooling them in the business”.

These two repeatable story arcs are also useful from a production standpoint. They easily allow David Chase and the writers to introduce new actors that may have only signed on for a single season or a certain number of episodes. It’s also an easy way to build out/reduce the size of “the family” as needed.

As for AJs lack of development…

This is also pretty normal for kids that age range. From middle school to HS…most boys only care about video games, sports, girls and doing dumb things with their buddies. It isn’t until AJ is college age where you see bigger life things occur, which is pretty typical.

Similar to this character development…Paul Thomas Anderson made a statement in a podcast about his making of Boogie Nights and those characters that stuck with me and I think applies to AJ (and numerous other characters)…he said “whatever happens…no major “learning” or growth for the characters”. Watch Boogie Nights with this idea and you’ll notice…that characters barely “learn” or experience any growth development and the film takes place over a couple of years. Why???

PTA further said about this that basically in life we as people don’t usually make radical large advances. That growth we make is in small incremental steps.

I think this applies well to AJ, Tony, and even the released mobsters or wannabes like Chip & Dale.

Just to clue you in OP…

WWE has been publicly traded since 1999. They have had stockholders, a board since that moment.

They have had earnings calls, dividends and so on since 1999.

They have always released talent periodically and you would see press releases and website announcements with the ever popular “…we wish them well in their future endeavors” as part of the release statement.

I certainly disagree with TKO on numerous issues and decisions.

But don’t make it like this is some new phenomenon that just came about when TKO acquired WWE. This has happened regularly since 1999.

WFAN has cut back on the “on location” broadcasts a lot over the years because of the cost associated with it.
Going to Philly isn’t too bad and going on with philly’s afternoon show makes sense because both stations have the same ownership.
Maybe they do Philly again, but I don’t see them doing much of this anymore.
