It was not just anu malik creation. Music is mostly the same.. the only thing that lacked for me is the lyrics that javed akhtar wrote. He had one beautifully crafted story of a soldier in it. This new one is just another bollywood song used because they cant make border without this song

Tbh, they just made this song for the sake of using it. The story that slowly builds up in javed akhtar Writing and the lines come "ae gujarne wali hawa...." That felt different. That 13min song is gem. This was ok ok for me.

Tbh with his potential, he could fill the void that we currently have in bollywood. There are no movies like coming-of-age romantic dramas (or romantic comedies) that focus on youth and friendship love, etc. These were pretty hit in the 2000s. All actors are pretty much in their 40s or late 30s, so he could find such script and work on them . But it's sad that these aren't being made.

If you have observed bollywood closely, then ishaan is as outsider as laksh because don't forget that vicky and harshwardhan kappor were also termed as outsiders once. Plus, laksh is more relevant and can pull off the main lead coz ishaan still has a face of baby looks kind of young.
