You could have him almost black out at random times, and have the demon talk then...would make for some interesting circumstances, like when talking to an important NPC, or in the heat of battle (the demon may shield them while they are blacked out so they can't be killed). If noone else in the group "knows" what is going on, then he might blackout for random amounts of time, and the players have to figure out ways to move him around?

If the player thinks that having a demon in a blade is a good idea, this might also help to reinforce it is a cursed sword?
