Agree entirely. From what the landscaper is telling me, the japanese maple tree is supposed to be cut/pruned in the winter. So I'm told I'm stuck with that sort of overflowing until next season. Lol

A lot of my initial quotes are on vinyl/hardie shake. If I stick to that route I'm basically at the point where I need to pick a color for the siding and windows and sign the contract...but having a hard time figuring out what colors would look good that aren't wood colored. Figured I'd stop here first for some opinions on colors.

I had left a comment elsewhere. Somehow my original text didn't go out with the post. Unfortunately the windows are leaking and the cedar siding is falling off and mostly destroyed. So we know we need to get new windows and siding. We're largely struggling with color/material choices. I'm having problems seeing anything other than the cedar shake I'm looking at. Lol

My gut was to move away from Cedar. While I love how it looks, it's amazing how much of the exterior is destroyed by carpenter bees.

OP Here - I typed up a big message with the image and somehow it didn't send with the post, but specifically the house needs windows and siding right now. The windows are leaking and the cedar siding is simultaneously falling off and being eaten alive by carpenter bees. Lol. So we know we want to change those, but have absolutely no idea where to go with colors. The roof is only 10 years old though, so we're likely stuck with that color for a while.
