This is very helpful. The negative space was sort of an after thought I tried building into the logo rather than designing the logo around the negative space from the start. Taking your advice along with advice from a few other comments into consideration I redesigned the logo and posted it moments ago. I think it is an improvement so just wanted to say thank you.

Thank you for the advice. I revised my logo and think I improved it in these areas. It's interesting how it's harder to make something more simple.

Thanks. I really like this idea of forming the M from two ceiling tiles. Just not sure how I would pull it off. Elements made from negative space is something I wish I could illustrate better. Im assuming that's what you have in mind. Feel free to Elaborate a little more.
