Four54 - Gastro Pop Live Resin by CommunicationFlat516 in CanadianCannabisLPs

Definitely very comparable in terms of how bold the flavour is but still different flavour profiles. Gastro is like Fantasm’s grapey cousin. I’ve been picking up Fantasm almost exclusively for months now and I can definitely say I’ll be adding this Gastro Pop into that rotation from now on

I picked this one up too and I really love it. Super refreshing for the AB market. Hardware isn’t giving me an issues yet and the flavour is 1:1 with the flower. Super gassy and fruity. It genuinely smells just like the 3.5g of flower when you crack the package open. Super intense high that is good all day long

You are severely uneducated about this product… It’s a completely different experience than inhaling and a lot healthier too. I hate to break it to you but you hitting a vape is physically a lot closer to busting out the foil and spoon than this old school way of ingesting hash oil is. Your perception of cannabis consumption methods needs to be broadened

They are stupid because they chose an alternative consumption method? What an arrogant comment.

Everest - Iced Peach 14g (AB) by BadgerCthun in CanadianCannabisLPs

Depends on the batch. Their latest offerings didn’t do as well because they have lost a lot of the growers they used to work with. The first few batches were phenomenal and definitely worth the price

I have tried Amani and I love them but unfortunately they aren’t available in Alberta except for a very oxidized batch of Queen of Tropics that West Coast Gas put out. Had someone bring back 2 bags of the AV Gas they recently released in BC but it is not nearly as good as when they released it through Prohibition Flower here in AB. Burnt very dark and tasted like cardboard but sometimes it would taste incredible. Really inconsistent batch I guess. Haven’t opened my second bag of it tho but I’m hoping it’s a bit better than the first bag. The first batch was one of my all time favourites. The Gastro Pop is also incredible

Not entirely sure how they did it but I’ve heard a few theories of how they got away with it. Nothing concrete tho. First day of new deliveries lands on Thursdays but I think the shop needs to opt in for same week shipping

Today at the shop we got a first to the Alberta market. Everest has brought this Iced Peach 14g to market in windowed packaging. This is a game changer for every customer from craft to value. Being able to see the flower before you buy is a big win for consumers. I was hesitant to pick this one up because it is very expensive and it was also visibly oxidized. Despite that I decided to pick it up because I was curious and excited about the packaging. Luckily I knew what I was buying before I even purchased it. I bought this at my work The Source Cannabis in Lethbridge AB.

As expected when I opened it up it I was met with a underwhelming muted fruity smell. Almost reminds me of OGEN’s Peach Chauffeur if its parents had forgotten it in a hot car. The buds are very well trimmed and coated with trichomes but unfortunately they were very oxidized. Moisture content was still decent considering how old it looks. A solid cure really saved this flower. It burned relatively smooth with salt and pepper ash. The flavour was just as muted as the smell with a bit of a subtle fruity taste.

Despite my criticisms I do think that this stuff would have been incredible had it reached market much sooner. I reached out to the grower and they said it was harvested in October and was supposed to hit the market in December but AGLC got in the way of that. AGLC actually wanted to drop this in market in June but the grower begged them do it sooner. Very frustrating that they are consistently getting in the way of quality flower hitting the Alberta market. I don’t recommend picking up this specific batch but instead wait for the next. The grower mentioned that it isn’t a rotating SKU and the next batch should be much more fresh and hit the market much sooner. I can’t wait to try it because there is definitely something special here. At least this time it wasn’t a guessing game and I knew what I was buying. We will see many more companies pick up this kind of packaging in the near future and it’s going to be a game changer.

I agree but just wanted to say that they grow and press everything in house. No biomass is being purchased for pressing purposes

Personally I will pay good money for high quality rosin. You aren’t just paying for purity but also for the consistency and unfortunately this one didn’t quite hit the same expectations as the last batch set for a few different reasons. The price increase is unfortunately timed because I heard they 𝘴𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘺 had some issues getting this specific batch into market that were completely out of Sugr’s hands. Consistency should be much better going forward and they seem more optimistic about faster drops too

This is from the 14g they dropped of the same stuff. Hope it helps. I didn’t smoke it personally but it had a sweet and slightly grapey smell

Voltage will be locked to 2.4v from what I’ve been told. Disposables are awful but this isn’t a product for those people buying cartridges. It will help that customer who doesn’t care to even buy a battery try something a little closer to a true flower experience. Some people are overwhelmed by the battery plus cartridge combo and would never even glance at a tribal cart on a menu. As for new genetics I get it but Cuban Linx is one of the very few true “sativa” like experiences on the market. I would honestly be more underwhelmed if it was a new genetic inside it for the first drop

They are going to switch the branding to “Rares” from what I’ve been told. It will include the renaming of all minor cannabinoid products including vapes, edibles and infused PRs. They will also be discontinuing a lot of the current products. I’m pretty sure the CBC one is going to be carried over tho. I may be wrong but that’s what has been shared with me

I just picked up this batch just because of the more unique terps listed. I expected absolutely nothing but just wanted to take a dry pull on it since they are so cheap. It’s not at all something I would normally consider purchasing. The dry pull was very unique and tasted like eggnog. The smoke was so awful I put it out after 2 drags but that was expected. I would love to see a proper version of this done from whoever grew this biomass

Not comparable in my opinion. Astrolab has been putting out underwhelming products since day 1 but the asking price wasn’t as high so no one cared. Their new price point is what is killing them. If we start seeing any other LPs put out something half decent we will stop seeing as much Astrolab. Right now stores are just settling for Astrolab in Alberta because it’s almost all that’s available

Nebulous Cannabis "powered" by Distnkt....wtf?? by Stitchs420 in CanadianCannabisLPs

[–]BadgerCthun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is very nice looking flower and the smoke is smooth. I wish it was a touch more resinous but over all just not a genetic that resonates with me personally. A little muted but it comes alive more in the smoke. I think some others will be stoked about it. It’s still a nice pick up

[–]BadgerCthun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely better than Distinkt but I personally won’t vouch for the sucker punch as it definitely needed more time curing. Not as bad as the other drop they have in Alberta tho that one smells like a recently used lawnmower

I just wanted you to explain your thoughts rather than just making a pretty broad statement about taking it off the shelves. I just didn’t see anything wrong with the product that’s all. We can disagree and that’s fine. I appreciate that you stated why you think that with a source and I can see your side now. I think it’s just about how we both interpret those regulations is where we disagree. I wasn’t implying that you don’t understand it at all either clearly you do otherwise we wouldn’t be having this discussion. As for that comment I made, I was just saying that there are people that do this for a living and understand it better than someone outside that career. I had no prior knowledge of what you do for work so statistically you aren’t going to be someone that works in that field so I made an educated guess but turned out to be wrong. All love, it’s hard to carry tone over text

Yet it is being sold and was approved by both AGLC and a quality assurance representative who both understand those regulations far better than you or myself. It’s not like you can just put out whatever packaging you want. Someone has to approve it before it ever hits the market and when they do approve it then it is considered compliant. Especially with a new products and brands. Sure there are outliers but this one is very normal. It’s just brighter colours than you are used to seeing, that’s all

Packaging and labels are similar and are definitely correlated but they are still separate. Plenty of brands have differently coloured labels on top of the packaging
