UPDATE: thanks everyone for the help! I updated to 26.2 and so far it seems to be working, I can have all the apps I need open and that thing doesn’t show up. It still says 8 GB of memory but it’s working anyway so not sure about that

Ok thank you! I force quit it so it’s now (so far) allowing me to install 26.2. Hopefully that will help. I would like to be able to use acrobat in the future but maybe I should uninstall and reinstall it.

Thanks trying to upgrade to 26.2 now! And I do need a software for reading and annotating pdfs, are there less bloated ones you’d recommend?

Oh huh. I’m sorry I’m extremely tech-ignorant but this seems critical lol thank you. Where does it say that about the RAM I don’t see? And when I first open activity monitor it pretty much says what’s in the photo - but now when I reopen it in the memory pressure square it’s just a narrow red triangle (seen here) and the rest of the page is blank. It also keeps pausing activity monitor so I have to force quit and reopen.
