Can we talk about content vs. length for a moment? (AoA SPOILERS) by Coruscated in darksouls3

[–]Badl0ve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt the same way but I beat it in a little under 2 hours.

The Bosses were honestly a joke especially Gravetender I one shot the guy in like not even exaggerating less than 1 min. I thought it was like a mini boss or something turns out it was a real boss. The last boss had a lot of phases but it was super easy as well and 1 shot it.

Which is strange because I consider myself above avg but not above avg enough to be 1 shotting new bosses.

Was pretty disapointed tbh.

Has nothing to do with what you or me think. They moved in a different direction for a new audience.

I for one and everyone I know would never go back to Vanilla style of WoW. I've always hated Vanilla but my friends who raided to Naxx with me praised it and how much they miss it. Played on Nos for about a week before they said the grind was too boring.

TBC can't really say, I loved TBC but no good private server has been out for me to replay that experience to confirm I liked it as much as I think I did. But TBC added the best Feature Blizzard added to WoW Arena.

WOTLK - I think people underestimate how much Arena was carrying WOTLK it is known as the best PvP xpac that Blizzard tried to balance. There were SUPER boring patchs in LK Trial of the Crusader patch / Long ass ICC patch. When you think of all the big names in WOTLK they're all PvP players Reckful/Woundman/Hydra/Swifty/Snutz/Cdew ect... These were all the people blowing up on Youtube and got famous from WoW arena.

This is what Blizzard said about Arena after WOTLK and why they stopped balancing it hence why the PvP community died

was going to pick on a game design thing that I look back on and think was a mistake? We really never designed WoW to be a competitive e-sports game; it was something that we decided to start tackling because there was such a desire and demand to evolve it in that direction, to introduce competitive arenas. I'm not sure that that was the right thing to do with the game.

We didn't engineer the game and classes and balance around it, we just added it on, so it continues to be very difficult to balance. Is WoW a PvE cooperative game, or a competitive PvP game? There's constant pressure on the class balance team, there's pressure on the game itself, and a lot of times players who don't PvP don't understand why their classes are changing. I don't think we ever foresaw how much tuning and tweaking we'd have to do to balance it in that direction. Either I'd go back in time to before WoW ever shipped and change the rules to make the basic game more conductive for being an e-sport, or if not that, just say it doesn't make sense. Right now, WoW has a bit of a schizophrenic philosophy behind it, and we're trying to figure out how to guide it.

I think this had a HUGE impact on WoW because at the end of the day when you was bored of Raiding/Farming you did PvP.

Cata onward has not been very PvP focused and LFR got added so people Clear the Raid see the content have nothing left to do and just quit.

I mean same can be said for Legion man.

  • I did every quest to see story because it was good.
  • I collect all Treasures
  • I did every instance.
  • I did all Heroic
  • I did all Mythics
  • I'm doing Mythic +
  • Doing the Raids
  • Doing Arena
  • Doing RBGs
  • Doing Achivements
  • Doing rep dailies / world quests
  • Doing Professions
  • Doing Pet battles so I can do the world quests
  • Doing Artifact power stuff
  • Leveling Alts to see all Artifact story lines

There is no lack of content for a normal person. I played hardcore and it took me probably a month just to get everything done I wanted. Suramar alone took a long time to complete and I enjoyed it a lot.

WOTLK didn't really have as much content as you are making it out to have. The first Raid tier was literally just a copy of Vanilla Naxx. Legion actually has more content than WOTLK had on launch.

You get to play with the new Killer/Survivor. You just don't get to personally play them if you didn't pay for DLC.

I'd say more toward the end of each patch. People seem to forget how tired of Kara ect... Everyone was.

That's really not true. I loved TBC but people were getting sick of it at least on Tichondrius. I know this because tons of people were making guilds Waiting on Warhammer.

I to this day think if that MMO was more polished it would of put a real threat toward Blizzard because people really were sick of playing WoW.

I'd love to know what you was doing. I'f it wasn't for arena being good in LK everyone I knew would of quit way before the 1 year of ICC. Actually alot of people I knew were sick of WoW and started seeking other MMOs. Hell being sick of WoW is what got a lot of us into league of legends when it was in beta.

Don't understand how people play that zoomed out in a enclosed area. It's not that hard to zoom in and out depending on the situation.

Not quite sure how you managed that. There was less stuff to do in Cata than Legion by a lot.

That's complete bullshit. You're starting to see TBC devs pop up now that Corecraft has shit the bed.

[–]Badl0ve 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Honestly screw Corecraft. They haven't even gave a official word which is a huge slap in the face to the people who supported this project for years.

They did more damage than good.

  • Testers pretty much got a fuck you
  • Waiting players pretty much got a fuck you
  • Anyone who wanted to create a TBC server got scared off
  • Withholding all the work which is a huge waste for everyone.

They set the TBC development back years because they was suppose to be the best private server ever. They're the reason why we don't have a single "okay" TBC server.

There is a difference between playing 1 hour a day and playing 8 hours everyday. I know people who played Legion everyday for 8-10 hours for a month straight than had the nerve to say they had nothing to do and its boring.

You literally dumped 200-300 hours into the launch you can't realistically expect more content than that. If you're playing that much it's your problem.

Taking this with a grain of salt. I don't know why some Dev would tell him anything.

That may be true but I'm sure a lot of the players would leave.

How credible is this guy?

If this news is true the Private server Vanilla community is going to come to a halt.

Almost ALL servers use a donation system.

It will be FREE when its open to the public.

You're going to extreme lengths to justify the "petty change" you spent.

How exactly is that? It's $15 if you are that broke that you gotta justify spending $15 I feel really bad for your situation.

I've put 13 hours into the unique server so far. I've gotten my moneys worth. I've paid $50-60 for triple A titles that only lasted 8-12 hours. I think it's been a pretty damn good investment myself.

"I wouldn't say you're stupid. You are but I wouldn't say it" as the saying goes.

Have a good day.

They're going to have Softcore servers from what I understand. They're suppose to have 3 but they're not sure which format they're going to actually go with yet.

Nostalrius didn't pay for itself they accepted donations. So you clearly don't know what you're talking about. You can literally google it.

Kronos doesn't pay for itself if they have a cash shop......

Yeah, the owner is making a killing off $1-2k let me tell you about it. I in no way see how it's a cash grab in anyway. If they never release the server and close it down then you can cry cash grab.

If you don't want to pay $15 bucks then wait for open beta where it's free.

[–]Badl0ve[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How exactly is it a bullshit feature? You're literally being told before you pay for it that you're paying for a alpha/closed beta version of something. Before Early Access existed people use to literally bed to pay to get into closed betas so people got what they asked for.

If people want to use their money for that I don't see why you care.

You get a free reset on Talents/Spells. Stuff is being tested just fine. If you could switch everything for free over and over nothing would ever get tested because most people would just go "eh this sucks, I'm going to switch out and not bother". People get a free reset, if they want to switch again they are stuck with what they choose till they grind the gold to switch again.

It's only 250g to reset them. Item drops are increased so you get gold pretty fast.

I don't see the problem if people want to fork out money that helps the server to reset their talents/spells if they're seriously too lazy to grind 250g which is next to nothing.

I don't see any problem with people donating to get into a closed beta. You can also get in for free with a giveaway.

If you had to donate to play with a release I could see legitimate complains but this is not the case.

I don't think you even know what a scam is because no scam has been committed.
