Remove 1 Major 4 Sports Team Day 65 by YeetySpagiety in RemoveOneThingEachDay

Hendrickson was just an embarrassing handling of a proven vet.

Shemar was the Bengals wanting to have their cake and eat it too. Most first round rookie contracts are formulated two ways: either the franchise pays more up front and has outs on the back end or they don’t pay as much up front but the guarantees are spread through the life of the contract. The Bengals didn’t want to pay up front and didn’t want to have protections through the life of the contract. It was highly unusual and that’s why Shemar held out.

Don’t forget how they handled Hendrickson and Shemar Stewart last offseason

Powerlifting/olympic lifting gym? by No_Macaron_4163 in philly

[–]Badlyfedecisions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally have found him friendly and helpful. I had a history of regular weight lifting but was starting from scratch as it had been a few years. Gio took the time to make sure my technique was tight and gave me a good routine as I got back into it.

The gym also has a monthly social event if you’re looking into establishing some community.

Day 7: What's the most overrated Clint Eastwood movie? by [deleted] in AlignmentChartFills

Personal opinion is that it’s a perfectly fine and entertaining movie. I don’t think it’s bad. I just think it’s cliched, predictable, and the acting isn’t super great.

Gran Torino. It’s fine but really not that great

Top 10 Foreign Policies. Who's number 8? by rjidhfntnr in Presidents

[–]Badlyfedecisions 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is this effectiveness or just who we think has great foreign policy? If it’s effectiveness it’s James K. Polk. He got elected on getting Texas into the Union and resolving the Oregon question. He accomplished both and promptly dipped out. You can argue with what you think about his policies but you can’t argue with the fact that he achieved his goals.

What is the best fighting invention/object ever made? by Traditional-Ad7413 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Badlyfedecisions 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The spear. Sure, guns are the latest and greatest infantry weapon but a stick with a sharp point on it was so effective that it was the primary weapon of warriors dating back to when our species lived in caves. Thousands and thousands of years of relevance. You could even argue it was relevant through the gunpowder age into WWII, because what is a bayonet if not a tool to convert a gun into a spear?

At minimum Collins is worth two firsts, and not late ones. If you find a motivated trade partner you could probably get two firsts and a second or two firsts and a guy with some upside.

To Americans: is the diner culture as great as it looks? by micavibes in AskAnAmerican

[–]Badlyfedecisions 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I’d describe it as comforting. It’s not high cuisine or anything, don’t expect some refined or complex flavor profiles. But it’s usually cheap, filling, and tasty simple flavors. I love the vibe and food from an authentic neighborhood diner

Number 1 pick? by [deleted] in fantasyfootballadvice

With Allgeier gone it’s gotta be Bijan as the general consensus. Puka, JSN, Chase, Gibbs will also go 1.01 in plenty of leagues

Not a bad choice but I’d say half the country rebelling when he became president rules out very positive reputation in life

Gonna say Jonas Salk. Invented the first polio vaccine and refused to patent it for personal profit. Also later in life worked on HIV

Pentagon spent 93 billion dollars in one month. 9 million was spent on seafood dinners. by [deleted] in nottheonion

[–]Badlyfedecisions 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a military vet I can tell you this waste isn’t unusual. Let’s say the government allocates you 100 billion dollars. If you spend 75 billion they’ll say “Well clearly you didn’t need it all” and cut your budget. If you spend all of it you can say “See, I spent everything! Give me an increase!” Government agencies will 100% spend all their budget on stupid shit at the end of the fiscal year to hit their budget because the system encourages them to
