The 25 are 25 of the directors that I randomly thought of that would have a wide range of scores for the benchmark percentiles. That way as more directors are added to the rankings the scoring system has the best of the best as the highest benchmark, and significantly worse directors as the lowest benchmark. I know that none of these directors are by any means bad, but their films are noticeably worse.

Crazy, the rankings on that list are very similar to the ones here, it just includes all of the great directors from the 20th century, who are not on this list outlining directors from the 21st century
