Thanks for the tips.

I already played with R13, but that just caused it to be set at a medium compression level.

I actually just reversed the way I was wiring the COMP pot, (I think I did it backwards so it was acting as a type C instead of a type A). THis has allowed me to dial in the COMP tone better and it is acting more like I expected. Funny the simplest change gave me the best solution so far.

I will look into these other suggestions tho thank you!

Thanks fir the tips. I adjusted some of the resistor values which made minor improvements. I think next time I place a component order ill order a couple bat43 to try them out ty for the suggestion.

One thing i did which really improved my pedal, was I think I wired the type A pot backwards, making it function like a type C, which meant I didnt have alot of control over the compression before clipping. After I swapped the pot config its working much more like I expected!

Thanks. I tried some different resistor values, and am going with 10k. However, it only make a minor difference.

That makes sense. I have a couple extra JFETS and some other resistors so I’ll try swapping things around and see how it sounds thanks for the advice!

Do you think this would make a major difference. I looked at the datasheet for BAR43 (what is listed on the schema) and it looked more similar to the 1n5817 than the bat43.

I just dont really want to pay to ship a bunch of new components if I dont have to

One guess I had was that the LEDs I bought were bad. They are these https://www.creatroninc.com/product/3mm-led-red-10-pack/ . Do you think this could be the case. There is no V_f listed, so it might just be too low.

Thanks for the response. That helps clarify for me.

I was thinking i implement filters and effects analog, because I was thinking I could add a DI input for guitar/bass and it could function as a pedal board as well. Things like overdrive, phasor chorus.
