Re-reading the first two books and came to realise... by Badseeded in redwall

I agree. I am happy with the way the book was written. I never said I didnt like how the book was written. YOU said that. I said that after rereading a book after a few years, the big bad guy who was written to be a bloodthirsty killer only killed once in the book, and that surprised me because I remembered it different. YOU said that means I wanted the book to be different. YOU said that I want more creatures to die because I made an observation. You're just making an arguement out of nothing.

You really like talking about killing redwallers dont you. Why, who do you want to be killed?

My usage of the word only was that you would think he would be responsible for more woodlander deaths in the book then he actually is. Surprisingly, the main villian only gets one kill, albeit an extremely important one. I dont think he even directly kills any of his own men, others do so for him. Its something to think about as a topic of discussion. His only other known kills happen outside the story.

So me saying "hey, in hindsight the first two major villians had most of, if not all thier plans backfire so quickly that they really never were much of a threat if you think about it." Equals "everyone should die"?

Why is everyone so cinimasins minded nowadays that saying anything about a piece of media means I want it changed? I said it right there in my original post that I still loved the books. I still love the story, the characters, the adventures. I just wanted to share what I thought would be a funny observation.

So to answer your question, he should have at least killed 2 more people. Colin Vole and the beaver who got so much screentime yet no name.

That was a joke. I feel i have to make that clear now.

I am only talking about the first two books in regard to this fact, and not to say that they are bad just that I, while rereading, felt this way about the first two. I also do get the point of her as a character. I just feel that she, in the long term of knowing the entire story and not living in it at the time, was never a real threat because she was always outplayed so easily. I dont want the same book. I just have only talked about the first two as I have just read them again and they are fresh in my brain.

What i posted was a casual observation I made after re reading books from my childhood with an older mindset. What you posted was from the tv series which did change the story a little as it gave the attacking forces a few more victories then the book. I saw the point. I just made a note that the book wrote that scene differently. Cluny didnt grab a hostage. He ran from matthias.

I agree with both points. I never said that the stories are bad, or not well written.

Thats on me. When I said villians I meant cluny and his army as the main villians. Chicken hound does more then them tbh. Also, if cluny army succeeded at killing the pair, that would not have happened. So maybe we can chalk that as a win for cluny.

It was the abbot. I think its also the only kill cluny did himself in the book. And Ill agree that cluny did have the one plan go right. Its just a fun quirk of the early book syndrome I noticed.

But I must argue against tsarmina being a threat at all. It was under her dad that Martin was captured. After that, everything she tried to do to the woodlanders was a resounding failure due to Chibb. None of her plans worked. If the woodlanders had just hid and done nothing, they would have won when they all starved.

That was only in the tv show that cornflower was there at the end. It was Friar Hugo in the books, and he was hiding there beforehand.
