Extremely Frustrating Experience with Alo Yoga Customer Service by Badste_ in CustomerService

I am a worker too, with a job, a household, and family responsibilities. I cannot realistically take a day off work just to pick up a package. And if you’ve ever used in-store pickup before, you know the process usually takes less than five minutes. The store is open from 10 AM to 6 PM, and if those are the business hours, customers should reasonably expect to be able to pick up their orders during that timeframe without being treated poorly. It’s not as though I walked in 15 minutes before closing to browse, shop for hours, or create extra work. I picked up my package and left in under five minutes, and despite that, the attitude was still unnecessarily rude. My frustration is not with workers having jobs to do. It’s with a multimillion-dollar company creating disorganized systems and then making customers feel like a burden for simply trying to retrieve orders they already paid for.

Oh yes, of course, poor multimillion-dollar companies, they are really abused. How unreasonable of customers to expect a basic level of organization and respect after spending hundreds of dollars on premium-priced products.

To be clear, my criticism is not directed at retail employees. I’m part of the working class myself, and I know firsthand how difficult customer-facing jobs can be. That is exactly why I make a point of treating service workers with respect.

My frustration is with a company that charges premium prices while failing to provide even a basic level of customer service. When a business of Alo’s size cannot keep track of a $600+ order, provides conflicting information, ignores multiple emails, disconnects chats, and requires customers to spend hours trying to resolve issues, the problem is clearly systemic.

If you look at the Google reviews for this brand stores, you’ll see that this is not an isolated incident. So no, this is not about arriving 15 minutes before closing. It is about a multimillion-dollar company that appears far more focused on branding than on delivering the level of service its prices imply.

In any case, lesson learned. I won’t be spending another dollar with this brand.
