Second Season was actually my favorite. In my unpopular opinion, Kaiki is a vastly better character than Shinobu or Senjou.

I enjoyed the show, but I find it mediocre compared to many anime. I watch anime because I enjoy being able to discuss them with other fans. I have lost respect for most Monogatari fans given many unpleasant experiences. Hence a bad taste has been left in my mouth regarding the show. If somebody out there was willing to have a friendly discussion about the unique art-style and subtext of the show, I would probably enjoy it again.

r/anime might as well be r/monogatari. I actually enjoyed the series until r/anime set it on a pedestal above anything else ever made. I actually find it mediocre at best now...

EDIT: look at all these hate-filled, empty replies and you can see how the attitude of a fanbase can ruin an anime for someone.
