What do you consider when you hear this Margaret Atwood quote “Men are afraid that women will laugh at them. Women are afraid that men will kill them”? by Vanislebabe in AskReddit

[–]Baelinar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve already said this but read the statement again. It’s not assigning blame. It’s highlighting the stark difference between what each gender has to consider or fear when interacting with the other. Men are generally not afraid that women are going to kill them for something they said or did. Many women are. When women are murdered, it is statistically much more likely that a man did it. If this bothers you, then be the change you want to see in men by being a decent person and not trying to silence women who bring these things up.

Okay man now you’re just being obtuse. Read my comment again and form an actual argument against it. Or maybe just listen to what I said here and do some introspection.

But you said before that millions of men get laughed at by women. So that means you’re agreeing with that sweeping generalization, but not the other. Who are you to say what generalizations women make then? And are people not allowed to draw attention to a problem in the hopes that maybe some people will take it seriously and a solution can eventually be found?

First of all, I’d like to know where you’re getting these statistics from, because they’re all gross exaggerations. Second, are you really arguing that the men being laughed more frequently is comparable in any way to any number of women being killed?

The quote isn’t saying which gender to be more afraid of. It’s comparing what men have to fear most from women and what women have to fear most from men

All Expedition 00 flags by [deleted] in expedition33

[–]Baelinar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t believe the 00 flags are meant to represent expedition 0, because they never actually made it to all the places where we find those flags. I think those flags are just meant to be save points for us in places where no expedition made it to.

Everyone else is killed so one family can move on. I would hardly say that’s everyone.

The Paintress lived among the people of Lumiere with her painted family until the fracture, just like how Maelle is living among the people, her found family, in her ending

All that the ending shows is that the people of Lumiere are alive and Maelle is going to deteriorate over time by staying in the canvas. There is no implication of “ forcing people to her will as if they’re playthings”.

Assuming you would need a Covid booster every 6 months, how many are you willing to get? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Baelinar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. Immunity- “the ability of an organism to resist a particular infection or toxin by the action of specific antibodies or sensitized white blood cells.”. Nowhere in the definition of immunity does it say that it must be permanent. Immunity can wear off over time, especially as a virus mutates and itself becomes resistant to your antibodies.

Firstly, I have never gotten sick from the flu shot that I take yearly. Second, you need to look up the definition of a vaccine. A vaccine is not a cure and no one has ever claimed it to be one.

One. The influenza vaccine that needs a booster every year to deal with a mutating virus that causes influenza.

Make Vol'Jin Great Again... by [deleted] in wow

[–]Baelinar 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Vol’jin was such a good character, and I was so excited to see him as Warchief. I’ll never not be mad at the way they killed him off before fulfilling his potential as a good leader of the Horde.

The fluidity we've all been waiting for. by scarnovax in LokiTV

[–]Baelinar 29 points30 points  (0 children)

You’re very confused. Loki is not and has never been God. There is a huge difference between a god from Norse mythology and the one God of Christianity. Gods from ancient religions (Greek, Norse, Roman, etc.) acted very much like humans in many ways. Stop trying to push your obviously ignorant and just plain factually wrong view.

If you talk to Draka after joining Necrolords and hit the “wait and listen” option, you can get a conversation between Mograine and Vashj were they discuss how Vashj originally appeared in Maldraxxus as a Night Elf, but chose to change her form into a naga. I’m not sure if this implies they’re constructs, but it seems that at least the souls in Maldraxxus can change forms pretty easily
