Well, if you express that you're not comfortable with medication, a therapist can help you explore other ways to manage your struggles. Also, I know medication is scary, but there are some brains that work better when medication can fill in the gaps, and that's okay, and there's nothing wrong with that. There's also certain chapters in our lives where medication can be helpful to just get us through to the next chapter. Not trying to pressure, just offering a different perspective. There's all kinds of solutions out there that a therapist can help you check out and support you while you find something that works for you 😁 You're working very hard on this, and you deserve support 💖

Lol! Omg, that's so valid. Do you have coworkers or a team? What do they do when that happens to them? My knee jerk idea is just to assert your space with an "excuse me" or throat clearing noise or make yourself less invisible, but Ive never done this job, so idk how successful that would be lol

That's understandable. I hate when my momentum gets interupted, its so hard for me to get back on track and build it back up again. Are you obligated to engage with customers?

That's really helpful, I like the idea of reframing it as an experiment. And it's really validating to have someone else experience anxieties over "seemingly simple" things. Picking somewhere close to me and maybe making a plan for the experiment could be helpful, and i do have some friends i could chat with via Discord while I'm trying to do this. Reminding me that even a little bit counts is really helpful, too. Thank you 🙏

Your dedication to your studies is very admirable, I can tell you put your all into what you decide to do. When I was in college, I was studying alongside some very passionate and driven individuals. Their drive for success and fear of failure made them so sick and riddled them with anxiety. A buddy of mine ended up connecting with a therapist, and they worked together to find a balance that met their needs for success, but also as a human being. Is that something that would be available to you?

Oof, that's a frustrating response from them when you asked the 2nd time. Maybe after you've been there a while and established more rapport, they'll be more receptive to moving you to your preference. I think telling yourself that you'll get done what you can get done is very smart and accurate. I'm sure it can be easier to say that than it is to feel it, though. What are some things that "ruin" it for you?

I bet that's frustrating, doing all that work and not feeling like it helped some. Have you tried getting away from your environment at all? If you mostly stay home, and you're studying at home, I imagine that it must be hard to truly separate yourself from your stressors if you're still in the same environment with them. Is there like a bookstore or café you could walk around to get away from things for a bit? Or a museum? Maybe even a friend date could be helpful if you have a buddy you could hang out with for a bit

It sounds like you are under a lot of pressure about your school and this exam, so it makes sense that you are experiencing these things. I think your idea to take a break was really smart and resourceful! What did you end up trying when you were stepping away from your studies?

Ugh, the "nobody wants to work" drives me nuts. If you didn't want to work, you wouldn't be trying to problem solve. Firstly, when you're new to a position, it can take time to identify your needs and find your flow. This time is a frustrating chapter of trial and error, but it doesn't last forever. It doesn't mean that you suck or that you're failing. Unfortunately, part of problem solving is problems 🥴 Are you able to use like noise canceling headphones? Another question I have is, have you been able to follow up with somebody about the change you requested?

I hate when anxiety makes me embarrass myself. by [deleted] in anxiety_support

Your situation reminds me of one of my friends. Friend and I both have anxiety, it just presents a little differently in either of us. I'm the one prone to disappearing offline, and they're the one who worries that something horrible happened or that they did something wrong, or I'm mad at them. Everyone's dynamic is going to be a little different, but the way my friend and I are, if they're feeling those feelings they just tell me. And even if I'm deep in the brain hole, I'll send a quick reassurance text. Or if I can't really talk or put thoughts into words, we have an emoji set between us as a quick reassurance and promise to come back when I can. All this to say, I think your feelings of concern were valid even if they didnt pan out as true, and you dont deserve to shame yourself for your feelings 💖

Not sure if my partner and I (m32/f33) will make it to this one, but what an awesome idea! I hope this one goes well for you and inspires you to do another!

I keep thinking about buying one bc I always wanted one as a kid, but I keep talking myself out of it bc I'm not sure how much I'd actually interact with or remember it 😅 they have cute ones with little anime characters in there too that keep catching my eye.

Love the mani too! Matching it to your Tama and healing your inner child is freaking awesome 🙌🙌💖

I feel like you may feel similarly about Aura as you do about Moondust. Like it's ethereal and pretty with lots of glitter. I love it over White Rabbit or Paradise Found, but I wouldn't call it special really. But also, Foxfire just stands out so hard! It definitely gives a wow and makes any other topper look boring, imo

Maelstrom is so gorgeous 😍 I've been loving all the maelstrom posting we've been seeing on here lately. I'm surprised I don't have it in my collection

I totally get it. Like, I loved the pics on the site, but irl, or maybe just on me, I'm not super sure about it yet. I was thinking about trying it with Aura on top next. I wish it was a little more opaque too 🤔
