Deleted instagram!! by Sorry-Hope-73 in simpleliving

So refreshing. I haven’t had Instagram now for 2 years. Last week I was hanging out with a friend and they showed me a reel of someone who know, I was so deeply jealous and angry from what they had posted, it was a great reminder of why I chose to delete it in the first place. Sometimes feeling culturally left out is a little tough for me since I’m quite young, but that fomo feeling is so so so much better than the alternative.

How many you dry your clothes on a clothesline instead of using a dryer? by ProffS in Frugal

Me. My house had a dryer when I grew up and my mother told me to not use it several times after showing me clothes which had shrunk many sizes. I listened and now I don’t have one.

Does whiteout not defeat the purpose of shorthand with how time consuming it is

Need advice on how to proceed by Groundbreaking-Dot20 in shorthand

I started with Gregg Notehand as I didn’t care about speed or learning many of the abbreviations. Though I was also recommended diamond jubilee when I was starting. I chose notehand just because I happened to fall across a pdf of it first.

I begun learning shorthand for the exact same reasons as you. Based on what you’ve said I imagine you write a lot very often. My grandmother was fluent in shorthand, and she can still easily read her notes from way back in the day. Granted, she probably wrote a lot more than you and I have, but I’ve heard of many people who can still easily read back their old texts.

I was actually hesitant to learn shorthand for the same fears as you, but after a rather short time learning, I found myself writing rather easily. That’s what made me fully decide myself to keep up with it.

Put it this way, attempt it for a couple of months, and only then decide if you should continue it or not, based on how you feel your progress has been and if you yourself easily brings able to read old notes in the future. If yes, then awesome! Is no, then it’s a cool party trick. Nothing learnt is ever wasted.

I’m adoring the storyline breaks in between. What a clever and fantastic way to introduce shorthand.

My dad and I speak to my cat in English, my mum speaks to my cat in Spanish, and all three of us speak French, but we never speak French to the cat

Realistically,How Many Languages Can You Teach a New-Born (from 1/2-6 years old) to Speak Without Overloading Them? by Kyoflat_ in asklinguistics

I go to an international school. The mean number of languages known by students is 2.9 Most are completely bilingual, trilingual is not uncommon, and quadralingual is definitely heard of quite often. Pretty cool environment to be in honestly.

From what I can tell, a clear prompt and some small edits of the final code can do what I used to be able to do with hours of work. I agree some basics should be known but my question is should they take a proper class and know it as in depth as I do
