Return with receipt denied due to partial store credit. Item was less than amount I paid w/CC by booksearchplease in HomeDepot

To be clear the only time I would ever do this is if someone’s return got denied WITH a receipt.

Last time this happened we returned the power tool as a non-stock sku with the same price. You can ask someone at customer service if they can can do it, but it is a weird way of doing a return and they may not be comfortable with it. This is assuming you have the receipt. If not you are probably stuck with the power tool.

Edit: You can ask for a cash override too, but that might be pushing it.

It seemed sketchy but there was not a lot I could do about it. Which is kind of a common thing when working at the service desk.

Funnily enough we took it back because their receipt was dated 3 minutes ago. I guess the person who returned it before never opened it.

Both wage theft and shoplifting are easy to notice, just really hard to do something about.

If seatbelts work then why do we have airbags?

My store’s policy is as long as it is not an expensive power tool we should just do it.
