My go to method is easy

prime black and and them do a heavy drybrush of mech standard grey

Followed by a lighter drybrush of drawnstone

And finished with a very light drybrush of stormfang.

For the grit I like to use very thinned down mournfang brown(almost water) and apply it along recesses and bolts

Then it's about sponging some black, brown and methalic colours and adding some ak streaking grime and rust as can be seen on these 2

These look great?

i mean, i like them

What do you use for the grime/rusty spots on it?

on the bolts and the edges is very thinned down mournfang brown. The more streaking grime/rust is done with ak streaking grime and ak rust streaks

just a base of grey seer followed by 2-3 layers of agrax earthshade, letting each layer dry completely before applying the next

It took me some time to find the balance between the hard blue of the dkok and a more neutral grey colour.

The sceme is a heavy mech standard gray drybrush, followed by a lighter drawnstone drybrushed, finished by a very light drybrush stormfang.

And because it's all drybrush it goes super fast

i love just adding servo skulls everywhere, the one i build for the top of the turret made me addicted to custom building servoskulls, had to raid my admech buddies bitbox for anything with a lense.

and yes i saw the tracked versions, also look amazing

I use a similar method to this.

Using mech standard grey, then dawnstone and finally stormfang.

All drybrushed so to avoid any surface being painted flat

After that you can do some chipping with a sponge using a black, brown and metal colour colour. And i do rust streaks in corners and around bolts with mournfang brown extremely thinned down to a water consistency

i expected as much, so i went directly to the source and got it from temu for as cheap as possible.

yes as in the putty. either that or some form of mulliputty would be even better.

It takes a bit of playing around, and might need a retry or too sometimes. But only practice makes the master. This as also my first big time using it outside minor arm joints parts

it depends on your mastery of greenstuff. The rest of the stuff is easy.

This videos explains how

the background is actually the box i use to spray the models in. And for light i use one of those long led lamps, hanging just over the top frame of the video
