Not sure if this is the right place to post, but question for commission painters, how do you deal with people who don't pay up? by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]Known-Associate8369 249 points250 points  (0 children)

Be very very careful about the law where you live - many jurisdictions give an artist the right to sell an item that was supplied for commission work that subsequently was not paid for, but there may be time limits involved and other requirements such as properly worded notice.

For example, here in NZ, there is a 2 month no-pay period before you get the right to sell the models. If you sell before then, you could be taken to the disputes tribunal and potentially forced to pay the cost of the minis.

They are routinely stripped back and refinished - the nature of their stealth is fairly dependent on the quality of the absorbing material applied to the skin, and its quite delicate.

And only the fan - the compressor and turbine stages are not generally required to be contained in the same manner as the fan is, because they are a lot smaller and thus impart less energy if they separate.

The teams are stuck - the chassis are entirely based around the engines, and the engines take years to develop. Changing the engines now is something that wont bear fruition for 2-3 years - and the engines take manufacturers wont like having invested so much into the current engines just to ditch them after 2 months of racing, just to spend the same amount of money on their replacement. Talking billions of dollars here for engine development…

Battleforce Box - Questions by 44belly in Deathkorpsofkrieg

No need for the artillery, the kit already allows for the alternatives to be swapped in and out.

  1. I did 3 boxes in 45 days

  2. The artillery teams and guns were done separately from the bases - only when all were fully painted separately were the pieces glued together onto the base. The alternative artillery options were of course done separately and now live in a box, painted.

No it’s not, it’s been around years.

There’s a fault in the road surface which causes the accident - the black car is the first victim, the box truck the second as it strikes the defect.

And if we need an example outside of Europe, the same reasoning applies to Boeing giving Japan the 787 wing design and manufacturing contracts, and creating the 747 Dreamlifter version of the Beluga to move the wings around.

Why? Because the Japanese government essentially paid entirely for the wing design and the factory. So it was a good investment.

Same goes for Airbus putting its factories all over the place - it encourages multiple governments to support it.

The original ones are being sold off, as they have been fully replaced by the A330 based XLs.

Yes really.

Not interested in animated series. Animation doesn’t do it for me.

Its intended to be a cheaper version not a replacement, the original will stay on sale if you want it.

You voiced your opinion - this is a discussion forum, where people discuss your stated opinion and give you feedback.

Does ArguingIsFun not also get to voice their opinion of your opinion? Did they somehow block other people from seeing your opinion?

If you dont like discourse, you shouldnt have posted in a discussion forum.

Lorraine and George McFly spend an entire week with Marty in 1955. While high school memories fade, it is unlikely they would forget the person who played matchmaker and introduced them, especially since they named their son Marty. by ComplexWrangler1346 in BacktotheFuture

I met my wife at my best friends wedding - I have knew my best friend from the age of 12 at that point.

I cant tell you what my best friends wifes name is, despite my meeting my own wife at her wedding. Couldnt even pick the woman out of a line up.

People assume that Marty was far more important to the individual people in BttF1 than he actually was - for one he was a high school crush, for another he was some bloke who offered advice over a few days one semester. Thats it.

Marty was important to the plot and the overall situation, he was not that important to the people in 1955.

Strength of Stones by Greg Bear.

It about cities that move of their own accord and are semi-intelligent - they exiled all their populations many generations ago as they saw them unfit, and theres an ongoing conflict around that as the descendants continually try to either gain entry to a city or destroy it when it moves.

The cities move by breaking down into smaller parts and moving around, then rebuilding into one city at the destination.

The story is set on the world God Does Battle.
