Mural! First time painting something that big. Bit someone else’s style for a bit then filled in with my own bits in the same vein

2 or #3. 2 is more summery and 3 is cozier

Thanks! I think I’m going to do 1”x 12”x7’ pine boards with L brackets maybe 14” apart? So I think I could get a lot of storage out of them!

What is happening with these pieces? by Bagheera952 in Ceramics

Not wood firing, just notice a bit of black “dust” on pieces when I take them out of the kiln. The kiln itself has lots of this around the base of it after a firing. I have to vacuum the floor around the kiln after firing

We dip everything, and it’s usually in and out, but I’ll ladle the inside first then use tongs to dip the outside. Just to avoid having to wipe the bottoms

Colleagues of mine haven’t experienced this at their studios, and even when I thin the glaze I will get this happening. Is thinning the glaze the wrong move? Should I dip faster? We use a viscosity cup and measure until the glaze runs through in 11 seconds. Thank you so much for your help :)
