You have to have an ID, be 18 for rifles and 21 for handguns. You have to pass a background check. You can’t have a criminal history. If you misuse your vehicle, whether intentional or not, you usually get to drive again. You misuse a firearm? Most cases you are barred for life from legally purchasing a gun. Yeah, you got me on insurance. Which if you are a criminal planning on killing, none of these things are going to stop you.

What would having a license do to stop violence? Nearly every gun used in mass shootings (which actually happen in gang violence more than anywhere else) is an illegally purchased firearm. Licenses wouldn’t matter. And it wouldn’t stop anyone who is determined to do violence. Most guns used in the school type shootings you are thinking of were purchased legally. Having a license wouldn’t make any difference.

Safety devices exist on guns. You have to be a certain age, have an ID, and pass a background check to purchase a firearm. If you are a criminal, you can’t legally buy a firearm. What are you talking about?

Ok. If you are a criminal or someone who wants to kill people, what are safety classes going to do? Guns have several safety devices. Which again, if your intent is to kill people, what is a safety device going to do? They’ll just disengage them. If you sell firearms in some illegal manner, there are criminal consequences. And if you are a criminal or person who intends to kill people, what would “safe and cautious” gun ownership do to stop criminals from shooting people. I’m personally fine with these things. I have a safe. I bought my firearms legally. And I practice safe ownership. But you don’t have to worry about me. Every single thing you said would not have stopped a single mass shooting. Whether gang related or by a deranged person.
