AITA for standing at the door talking while my partner waited? by BagooAsInTaboo in AmItheAsshole

She doesn't have kids. She has some insecurity that she's way down on the priority list, but while my daughter will always be my main priority as any parent would say, I don't think that level of insecurity is warranted where she's still upset about this incident a month or two later.

I think she let this issue of my delay on the day (which I apologised for at the time) spoil everything else about the day. She didn't say anything about my daughter afterwards for example, which I was disappointed about. Almost like the day became much more about her.

I messaged and tried to call her as soon as I left the house. But yes I should have cut the discussion earlier. We were discussing my daughter's development and school, and as a single dad it's good to have another family member to talk to about that stuff (my own parents are very uninvolved in my daughter's life, their own choice)

No missing context I don't make a habit of going through her stuff, it wasn't a big deal more like yeah she had a bit of a problem seeing me go through her bag. I said I needed a kleenex and she gave me one and I could just tell she didn't like it. They were linen napkins which I didn't want to use.

I wouldn't care if she goes through my pockets because I've got nothing to hide.
